2.7 Exhaust Upgrade

Has anyone installed Borla's dual exhaust system on their 2.7? If so, what are your likes and dislikes? Any deep notes or too whiny?

The Borla video w/ 2.7L sounds good. On the list of mods I am getting. Have S-type with Black chrome tips on my soon to be traded F150 3.5L. Rear exit. No drone. Great tone at idle, normal acceleration, and really nice when you get on it. Excellent quality, warranty, perfect fit. Four years, no rust. No dislikes. Had Magnaflo on a 2010 F150 V8. Great sound. Rusted hangers broke at two years. Pipes not Mandrel bent. Not stainless steel so tips discolored. Go Borla.

I've had a Borla catback on my 1994 Mustang GT since 1999 and it is still in amazing shape. No drone and obviously an amazing sound. Borla would be the only choice I would consider if I out exhaust on my Ranger

I had a fusion sport that had the 2.7. My exhaust setup, which sounded awesome was a Magnaflow resonated x pipe and no mufflers. The sports were setup with true dual exhaust too. Had a nice rumble at idle and sounded great at full throttle.

It will allow the engine breathe a bit better so there may be slight power gain and possibly increased mpg
...but yes, mostly sound and cosmetic.

I am a fan of Borla and followed them through the 2.7 development. They have a "no drone" goal which they succeeded at. I have heard that Borla is the manufacturer of Ford's dual exhaust for this truck, but don't hold me to that.

Now, as for performance enhansements....that's easy. What good is a 10-speed transmission when ya gotta look at the tachometer to decide your shifting points. Now, I can hear the motor and shift accordingly. When in "drive", I reduce the number of gears according to the speed I will be traveling. Hey, it's not a paddle shifter, but it's a lot of fun shifting through sound instead of sight.
