Hey guys just trying to figure out what is normal here. I got my Ranger XLT 2.7L V6 two weeks ago and have been loving it so far. Only 400 miles on it so far but my fuel economy has been a bit worst than I was expecting.

Getting between 16-17 MPG with an even mix of highway (70 MPH), country back roads (45 MPH), and city driving (25 MPH stop and go). At best, I got 19.5 MPG on a pure highway drive that we did for 80 miles, but with my normal driving I am still between 16 and 17 MPG.

Is that normal? Maybe my engine is still breaking in? I'm only driving in Normal mode, and I like to give it some gas sometimes to enjoy that amazing engine but for the most part I am cruising under 2k RPM. Thanks all!

I have just over 4,000 miles on my 2025 Lariat since October 2025. I am getting 22.2 MPG per the vehicle gauge. Have not done any calculations other than that. Most of my RPM is at 1400, occasionally 2K, and I drive the speed limit. I use Normal setting only.
