2024 2.3 Ford Performance air/oil separator

I installed the Ford Performance air/oil separator on my 2024 Ranger 2.3 when it had less than a few hundred miles on it. Now its at 9000 miles. I checked the separators reservoir today to see how much oil has accumulated. It looks like it captured about a tablespoon of oil. It was bone dry above the screen so I know its working. Im just not sure if its necessary.

In the summer mine is the same. In thecwinter I empty it weekly. It gets about half full of oil/condensation mix.

After having other makes of vehicles and catch cans, i am passing on this truck needing one.

My son had a focus st and never installed one and he sold it with something 160 or 170k miles and zero issues

I think 99% if poleople wouldn't even know what a catch can is. I think the factory doesn't pit them on for cost savings, as well as doubting if people would empty it.

Yup, most people dont keep up on oil changes or tire rotations so a catch can would just cause trouble

I just installed a UPR oil separator a few weeks ago. Excellent quality, 5 minute install and I only paid $135.
