2025 Ranger PHEV Hybrid Revealed w/ Pro Power Onboard, 28 Miles Range, Arriving Early 2025 (Europe/AUS)

The 4XE is the most popular Wrangler drive train (38% of sales). I think a PHEV Ranger will be just as popular.

The Ranger PHEV’s 28 miles of EV range will be more than enough for my typical city/suburban driving. My gasoline consumption will take a dramatic drop.

The towing ability will be phenomenal and the Pro Power Onboard will be able to power our home during a grid outage.

My biggest disappointment is how long we are going to have to wait for it in the USA.

I’m still convinced the delay to the US is because of battery sourcing/tax credits. Also anxiously waiting to see what happens with it for the US market.

Resurrecting this old (but interesting) thread because I stumbled into this Ford of UK website that provides some specifications I have not seen before on the Ranger PHEV:

Here is what was interesting to me:

• The electric motor embedded in the transmission is 75kW which translates to 100.6 HP
  
• Given that 100 HP electric motor, the combined HP for the Ranger PHEV would be 370 HP.
  
• The 500 lb-ft of torque rumors we read about in earlier Ford Authority articles sounds very plausible now.
  
• It has an 11.8 kWh battery pack. That is interesting given that the Escape PHEV has a 14.4 kWh pack.
  
  
• The Pro Power Onboard is available in 2.3 kW (10 amp) or 6.9 kW (30 amp) options. Given the UK has a 230 volt standard that means the US's 240 volt standard would translates to a 2.4 kW (20 amp) or 7.2 kW (30 amp) options which is exactly the same as the F-150 Powerboost.

I am hoping this comes to North America soon after it is deployed in ROW.

Good to see a refresh on this news. I'm hoping we see further guidance from Ford soon since rumors imply '25 Ranger news coming soon. I looked at the Maverick but decided on a Ranger to allow for better towing capabilities. Toyota got it right with their hybrid strategy as most consumers aren't ready to go all in with an EV but the hybrid provides a good transition bridge.

I just saw a news release on the Everest, so maybe Ford is prepping for Ranger news too.

I love it when I see new electric vehicles and hybrids become available ...that just means more dino oil for the rest of us. I see it changing around 100% in the near future where before it was the only the rich and wealthy that could afford the expensive Teslas and cybertrucks and Hummer EV vehicles, BUT now they'll start making those more affordable for the masses, and in the near future, it will be only the elites and wealthiest that can afford gasoline or diesel.

i would love a hybrid ranger. my wife has a hybrid wrangler, though not the 4xe because all i read on jeepforums is how much trouble those are. my wife's wrangler has the little electric motor that adds power on take off and comes on if you are cruising between 20 and 40mph and when we just happen to be somewhere that lets you take advantage of that hybrid system efficiency, her jeep gas mileage goes up to 29-30mpg.

if they set a ranger up the same way, i would have to exchange my excellent 2.3 ranger for one, which i would hope could be gotten in an stx trim like i have now. i don't need all that other junk on the xlt or lariat

only 45km? thats a little underwhelming. is that pretty standard for a PHEV?

It would only get me half way to work, and since i cant recharge at work, i'd literally only be benefitting for 1/4 of my drive every day. Thats not cost effective for me I dont think.
