Hi Guys,

Just finished audio install on my car. Left the stock B&O DSP in place.

Tweeters are "AudioControl Altitude Series 1" Tweeters"
* See attached adapter file if you have 3d printer.
* Use the crossover that comes with the tweeters.

Dash speaker is "AudioControl Altitude Series 3.5" Component Midrange"
* See attached adapter file if you have 3d printer.

Front doors are "Alpine S2-Series 6x9" 2-Way Component Speakers S2-S69C"
* Bin the crossover and 3" mnid/tweeter that comes with them, also remove the crossover from the back of thr 6*9" itself as the signal is already processed from the DSP.

Rear Doors are "Alpine S2-S65C 6.5" Component Speakers"
* Again, remove the cross over on the back of the speaker itself, it's already processed.
* Use the supplied tweeter crossover, drill hole in door low down (scary I know!).

For the subwoofer installed a Kicker Key 500.1 with a Hertz DS 25.3. The Hertz DS 25.3 is a bit meh so I've replaced it with an Alpine S-W10D2 which is FAR better!
* See files for Key 500.1 mount under the seat.

Please try not to with the 'helpful' comments, I've been doing installs longer then some of you have been alive

I see you went with a midrange only speaker for the center. Is that because the center dash speaker is for fill and using a tweeter there will throw off the soundstage? Thanks!!

fantastic!

Do you feel the alpine options are better than the Focal drop ins?

Also, dumb question... but are the 6x9 prints block off plates?

Honestly, a lot down to personal preference. The tuning on the B&O DSP is quite 'bright' I didnt want that made worse with another tweeter in the dash.

The way it is now, sounds just about perfect.

Would replacing the DSP be the best way to go, 100%, even the old JBL MS8 would be better than the B&O we are stuck with.

I'm sure the Focals are fine, I just like the Alpines because I know they can hit hard and are quite clear given the specs of the B&O amp/DSP.

Dont go with the Alpine Type R if you are looking. You wont get the same output unless you use an amp for the door speakers too. Which gets messy.

Thats block off plate is for the subwoofer we get in Australia, not really needed, I just didnt want it there if its not plugged in. You can buy an official subwoofer block off plate from Ford I just cant find the link to it right now.

Also though it would be worth noting that I didnt cut any wires. I hate cutting harnesses. Here are links to all the cables you need to make this a tidy job.

Dash Speaker.

Front Doors

These are good enough with sound deading applied on the inside of the door skin and the outside.

Rear Doors.

These are a bit meh, there are better options out there that are correctly angled to match the door profile, but they do just fine if your cutting a hole in the door for a tweeter and only want the mid sound out of it.

And finally door clips, I find the Ford doors clips a one time deal, any time I haven't replace them they rattle. I'm sensitive to noise, I can hear the ball bearings in my seatbelt mechanism rattling!!!

I am sure you can buy them in AU too, they just cost 4 times more for the same thing....Rock Auto is my go to for most service parts.

I'm liking that the alpine S2's have a consistent rating on Crutchfield... will have to definitely consider this, especially since they're cheaper than the focal... thanks for sharing
