As the title states, started my truck last night (it had been sitting over 24 since last ran) and it was showing an engine coolant over temp error, check engine light was on and the coolant temp gauge was red. So I turned the truck off and checked the coolant level. Just above the minimum level but had coolant in it. Did not look to be leaking.

I started the truck again to see if the same error would happen and it did, but with what felt like a miss fire.

Anyone have this happen? Waiting on a tow truck now. The funny this I have it booked for the 8000km oil change this afternoon anyway.

I haven't had the over temp error but I have low coolant in the reservoir (below the min level) and I have been watching it. I only have 1200kms on mine and find it difficult to believe they would have underfilled it from the factory, so I'm interested in what's going on with yours....

Hopefully this is not a checked-and-found-ok event at the dealer.

So I just hear from the dealership, looks like a rodent got in there and chewed up the wiring... fml.
Fortunately my insurance does cover rodent damage.

This dealership is like a dog with a bone. My dad had a animal wipe out the front of his truck. When he got it back from the the body shop the high beams didn't work. Body shop took a look at it then told him to take it to the dealership. As a last ditch attempt to fix it, the dealership took a head light off of one other there trucks on the lot and were able to pin point the headlight control module.... modern vehicles :headbang:

I've been using using something like this for four vehicles now.

Well that sucks, hopefully the fix isn't too expensive.

I had a similar issue happen on my 2023 F150 STX with the 2.7. Had to have both heads replaced. I have no clue how it happened but luckily it was still under warranty. Just started it up one day and saw engine coolant over temp.
