Economy isn't booming and Ford doesn't wanna raise prices so they're decontenting the Lariat and XL/STX.

Has XLT been impacted at all?

To my knowledge, the XLT has not been impacted by the de-contenting.

Ford really seems to like early-year de-contenting and mid-year price increases. I note that my mid-2025 build had a MSRP that was $125 less than the end-of-year 2025s, a Destination Fee that was $300 less, a trailer package that was $40 less, and that my Desert Tan was free, for $395 in savings.

Thus, my same truck increased $860 mid-year. Now, that same truck comes without alloy wheels. I know some people like the vibe of steelies. I don’t. So those are now an extra $295. And so it goes…

Cost cutting plus it's another way to convince buyers that are on the fence between an XL or XLT to go with the more expensive trim.

Yep. The 2025 XL/STX doesn’t look like a base model truck. The 2026 will, and buyers will naturally gravitate more toward the XLT as a result. Marketers are smart.
