It is good to hear that the 3.0 is coming to the XLT and Lairat, it gives lots of tuning capabilities that the raptor has but in a non-widebody ranger. it puts it also similarly spec to the F-150 where you can get the 3.5L ecoboost on base models and on the raptor.

The Order Guide for the 2027 Ranger has been released to dealers. The most notable item is no Tremor for North America.
Wow, so all that tease for nothing?

So am I right in understanding that the "new" 3.0L Ecoboost in the F-150s is the same 3.0L that has been offered in the Ranger Raptor the last few years?

Yes. It will still be the twin turbo 3.0L V6 but configured differently.

It is structurally the same. It will likely have different turbos, intercooler, etc. and way less aggressive tuning than the Raptor engine. This engine in a Ranger being detuned should be very reliable. It's not breaking a sweat at 315hp.

If I'm not mistaken, I think on the Tundra the whole damn rear window rolls down.
That would be ok by me. What I really find annoying is the frit when driving and the difficulty when cleaning around the opening. The whole glass dropping would eliminate both of those. I probably still would rarely drop it anyway.

One thing that is a pet peeve for me is that damned rear window. I want a solid window!
I use the little sliding window in my F150 all the time for long boards. But I wish they would make it big enough to crawl through if needed. The postage stamp slider now is basically just for those of us without a construction rack on the back and to get a little flow through once in a while.

My little doggie likes to stick her nose out the rear window when I open it. So there's that.

Maybe I'll just order a new '27 Lariat. Pleather seats and sliding glass and all... ; )
Went to my local dealer in OKC yesterday for some service on my '19 Ranger. Stopped by to talk to a salesman about the 2027. He said the ordering was not open for them yet.

Personally I was hoping for a 3.0 XL (with steel wheels and a box side step). Oh well 🙄

Hopefully they’ll release the Tremor as a late addition, but I’m not holding my breath.

Yeah, it's open. My dealerdude said it will take 2 months to get a Ranger (maybe more). Not sure how much he really knows from just looking at screens at his desk.
Every time I read the threads here I get a little more discouraged.
C'mon, guys! Pick me up some! ; )
I basically dislike the "solid color" trend these days. Metallics are so much more interesting. Now I'm down to Ruby Red as the last resort. Otherwise the cheap looking colors bore the dog dung right out of me. White and black used to be the only non-metallics and now it's all part of cost-cutting. Solid colors are cheaper. Simple. And bad.
Maybe a $1000 set of stick on vinyl pinstripes could knock down the Ford-doesn't-care color palette feel. I can get a set of testicles to hang from the hitch while I'm at it. Gotta man-up this baby up somehow.
So, to finish my mini-rant: Is the 3.0L direct injection really needing a valve cleaning that frequently? I thought that engine was supposed to be a good one. What I'm I getting if I have that powerplant? Misery or a solid set up?
Still seriously looking at getting a Ruby Red 2027 Lariat but starting to waver a bit...

So I stopped by Ford dealer yesterday and I was told orders haven't opened up yet for 2027. And this was from the"internet mgr" sales guy. Not sure if he was BS'ing but I don't see any reason why he would for a new year model.

Then walked across to Nissan dealer and test drove a '27 Pro4X and loved it. The 3.8V6 is pretty ample but feels and sounds like a old school V6 without any turbos. Fully loaded with leather/moonroof side steps etc. I have tier 1 credit so got some basic quotes without credit check and it was $46k with $2500 cashback OR 0% financing and this was without even pushing it. Dealer had 2 Roush editions coming in next month but I didn't do any quotes for that.

Then last pit stop was GM dealer...enquired on the new '27 models with the updated 2.7L engine but they haven't opened up orders yet but sales guy said it will open next month for sure. New 2.7 engine has more HP/torque due to new bigger turbo and supposedly better cooling.

My gladiator lease expires in Jan so I'm waiting out the actual '27 orders yet but at this point, the '27 Frontier Roush edition is numeno uno on my plate...OR '27 Canyon AT4 a close 2nd.

Was hoping for a tremor build in Ranger but I think Ford might save it for '28. Ranger lineup has never been a priority for Ford (here in US vs other markets where Ranger is top dog).

Here to tell you I had a 2023 GMC AT4X until I traded on a Ranger Raptor, the Ranger is FAR more comfortable interior foot room driving rear leg room, the rear seats don't fold down flat on the Gmc , the AT4X was very good driving over bumps but the 4 cylinder was boring though it did the job

I have the box side steps and use them frequently. I like to put my right foot into the side step and then my left foot on top of the tire and then step into the bed with my right foot. Super easy process for this old guy.
