Hopefully they put a Hemi V8 in it.

Yabut...it's a Stellantis product. Avoid.
Well, I am not really a big brand loyalist. I have all brands of trucks in my business and personal collection, typically my Fords actually end up seeing more time at the dealers for warranty work then my Dodge / Ram trucks.

Honestly they are all pretty good now days.

If the Dakota looks good and has a V8 in it, very good chance I will buy one.
I liked the V8 Dakota I had back in 2008. That Dakota was actually my first Mid-size truck.

I would also love to see the 5.0L V8 turn up in a Ranger Raptor someday and I suppose it might be possible if the competition has V8s offered in their Mid-sizers.

Me either. I've had 16 Ford trucks and had no major issues with any of them. I've owned 1 Ram tuck. 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorny with everything they could bolt on it at the factory. It was in the shop 11 times in 34K miles over 4 years. It lived in a climate controlled shop and never did a hard day's work in its life. Roof leaks, body leaks, mold in the rear under carpets, front seat "fake leather" wear, replaced the rear sliding window twice, sunroof shade died, transmission issues (weird shifting, lurching, sticking in 3rd gear after stopping for a light), front end links twice, antifreeze smell after 1 year, broken exhaust manifold bolts 2X, cracked exhaust manifold, etc. Many of these issues are the same things Chrysler has suffered from since the 1970s. Never again for me. The 5th gen ram forums are packed full of the same complaints.

Yea I just came from a Jeep to a Ram 1500 to Ranger. IMO the only reliable bits of a modern FCA product are so old that they haven't changed much in decades and there's so much parts support that it isn't an issue. Anything new is a disaster waiting to happen. Hopefully Ford is a bit less crazy than the giant pile of issues we had with the Jeep.

Wow that is a long list.

I suppose they all have a few lemons floating around.

I had a 2021 Ram as well it was a TRX, owned it 3+ years, never went in the shop for anything other than a couple oil changes
.
My 24 RR has not been in the shop for anything major, just somehow ended up with a bad batch of TPMS sensors and they made me come back as each one's batter failed over a 90-day period.

Least when the 3rd one failed the dealer went ahead and replaced the 4th so I would not have to come back again. LOL.
Interesting enough my 2025 RR came with a different TPMS sensor in it. LOL

My past and a few present RAM HDs and couple 1500s from 2015 made it to well over 100K before I traded them for new F150s that none of the Rams needed anything other then tires and oil change type stuff to get them over 100K miles. Still have a 2016 HD gas 3500 single wheel in the fleet with a 130K and still runs perfect. In fact, I just drove it last week and still impressed at how tight and solid it still felt at 130K miles. It drove about the same as it did back when it was new.

Over the years seen lots of electrical issues with Fords.
AC issues with GMs
Few transmission issues with GM as well.
Several Transmission issues with Nissan Titans
Very few issues with our Ram 1500 or the HDs.
Very few issues with our Toyota Tundra's all prior generations with V8.

I typically run the business fleet trucks to 120K if a lot of upfit is involved and only a commercial use appeal, I typically run the rest of the fleet up to mid 80k range if they have strong retail market appeal.

I hope they put the 2.0 hybrid and 8 speed from the wrangler in it. I would definitrly go check it out if they did because of how great my wife's 2019 hybrid wrangler has been so far. (Not the 4xe wrangler, thats a pile of junk)

She has the italian built 2.0 turbo from the alfa romeo guilia with a electric supercharger looking deal on it. Sucker is fast and great gas mileage. My procal tuned ranger cant catch the 4 door wrangler light to light

That engine sounds suspiciously like the 2.0 turbo in the wrangler!!

Sweet it is the same engine

The 2.0L GME T4 Hurricane turbo engine is a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with direct fuel injection. This engine is part of the Global Medium Engine (GME) architecture family created by the powertrain division of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (short for FCA) group. The American version, made by the FCA US division, was introduced first in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler and, a year later, became available for the Jeep Cherokee.

Which jeep.
‘I do admit I find the idea of a 392 Glatiator very intriguing.
‘If that rumor comes to fruition, I am pretty sure I will have to have me one of those. lol

I have heard plenty of horror stories about the electrified stuff, and the latest grand cherokee seems to be getting a problematic reputation.

Jeep has had a few stinkers over the years. Also had some pretty good ones too.

Cherokee. It spent more in the dealer shop than I could drive it eventually traded it for the 1500.
