'26 RR - How Do I Shift From Park To Neutral With The Engine Off?

Did it multiple times without issues. But the 2.7-3.0 is very tight and bendy. I have to use the smallest tube.

Mechanic said it was no problem to do it but I just went too far trying to find the way thru the bends... They were able to get it out the same way it went in.

Won't be doing it on this truck. Back to getting under...

It's so easy on my German cars....and clean.

So the F-150 has the same setup as my Lincoln. I would assume the Ranger is the same.
You must have dislodged the bleed valve to get the evacuator tube far enough down to pick up oil.
It's possibly, maybe, floating around in the pan now

Following up on OPs question. Just to be clear, on the RR there is there no way to put it in neutral unless we start the engine or take the center console apart for the release latch?

My driveway is sloped and I just want to put it in neutral and roll back ablut 20 feet.

Sorry the thread got derailed at thread #15.

To move the RR a couple feet, you must do one of these two options:

1) You must start the engine to move it.

2) Follow the manuals instructions and take the console apart and pull the release latch to get it into neutral. You must also follow the manuals instructions on re-engaging the truck from neutral back into park, and be very careful so you do not damage the transmission.

There is NO WAY to just push the truck.

Now, with that being said, here’s a $200 alternative for those trucks on a flat surface. Buy two of these for under the rear wheels.

EXCEPT:
1) A RR curb weight is ~5,400 lbs. At 1,300 lb. capacity, this dolly is at its max capacity. (4 x 1,300 =5,200 lbs.) Although I think the truck may be lighter in the rear.
2) IF you have a sloped driveway, I would not recommend these.

I don't get it, you don't take apart the center console, you just remove the little plastic tab (there is a slot) and you pull on the latch. Super easy.

It will reset when you restart the truck

You dont get it, you are taking it apart aka removing the cover. And let me guess now we need to carry a pick or small screw driver to access the release vs start it. OK.

Stupid as F that we cannot simply place it in neutral while accessories are on.

Sorry about this.

It's only removing a cover with a finger and pulling a strap. But it's subjective, I understand this can be bothersome to people.

I'm a white collar (soft moisturized hands ), if I can do it everyone can.

It could be different from what we are used to, but in the world of electronic shifter that's pretty common.

On my X5 you have to crawl under the car to find the latch on the transmission itself.

Pretty happy with the RR latch

Edit : In fact I think in the world of vehicules with e shifters, trucks are probably the last to still get a physical latch inside the cabin. The rest, it's under the car if we're lucky to have one at all.
