Accent color paint codes

Did you actually use the Carbonized gray on the bumper/skid and did it match? I thought CG was a lighter gray than the trim

My Cousin works in the parts dept at my dealer here in Canada. A few months ago, I asked him what the paint code was, and he went to the bodyshop manager, and he told him its J7 Magnetic Metallic.

Does your cousin also know if this is the correct (enough) color for the OE non-beadlock wheels? I am pulling my hair out trying to find the REAL color code. I called a local Ford dealer, I called their body shop, I checked every forum I could find... and I get lots of conflicting info

If its the same colour as the front/rear bumpers, grill trim and my xlt rims, then yes. Thats what I asked. bumpers/trim, and rims. He said thats what the bodyshop manager said.

Hope that helps. I also intend to paint the skid plate at the same time. I think the reason Ford had a problem is you were asking for a trim color, the Carbonized Grey is an actual body color even thought it's used for the trim also.

Well, I tried out the Carbonized Gray and it's too light for the bumper. It's the same color as the rings on the Beadlock capable wheels if you need an example.

Turns out, I starred the text to save it from june 2025. He went directly to the paint technician, thats what the paint tech said, J7.

(and looking back at the texts... wow I did not realize how bad my fat fingers fucked up my typing. lol I generally do my best spell checking..... after I hit send. lol)
