Advice on XLT Order

I assumed an order on a Ranger XLT, original order date was 7/5/23. Truck blend date was 1/31, with last update on the tracker being 2/1. Chat and Marketing both tell me they don't know why it isn't shipping. Dealer told me today that the truck is in a "quality hold" with no listed reason or ETA. To make it worse, a Ranger ordered in December is on a truck for delivery to that dealership this week .

So I am thinking about bailing on this one, and re-ordering another. The current one has been sitting outside for 7 weeks, in the Michigan weather, with no end is sight. I don't really NEED this truck, as I'll be getting the Miata out in another few weeks.

What do you guys think?

I think you answered your question. Why bother with this specific unit at this specific time?

Heck, many of us are in this exact same position. I'm taking mine when it finally delivers unless it has damage, like acid rain or plant fall out in paint.

Done deal, re-ordered with a couple addtions (locker, Tech package, Spray on liner). I will ask mods to remove this thread.

I did the same thing. In production since 1/9. Placed a new order this past Tuesday, going into production 5/6. Now I hear about a $1,000 preorder rebate that the new one won’t have.

Since you ordered by July 5, you should get the $1000 and old price (before they went up post-strike) on the old order. I’d think about that before ordering a new one.

I asked about the $1000...Since I wasnt the origional orderer, they wouldn't honor it.

My XLT was ordered on the same date. 7/5/23. It's been shipped and the two week delivery window starts tomorrow. 4/11. I'm much farther west. good luck.
