Aeroskin II Hood/Bug shield by Husky installed

Super easy. Perfect fit, high quality materials. Felt flimsy when I unboxed it. But feels very sturdy after installation. Took less than 10 minutes to install. No tools. I’ll update when I have a few miles on it. But I am very happy so far.

The Husky was my first choice until I checked with 3M for conformation that their adhesive will NOT adhere to ceramic coating. So I went with EGR and very happy with how it installed. Like Husky, no drilling required.

I had a hood protector on my 2019 ranger (different version of this) and that 3m tape holds well. Like all 3m tape accessories, you need to remove any top coatings (ceramic etc) with alcohol. But only where the tape will attach to surface. I actually ordered this unit mid summer from Ford and they canceled my order after 4 weeks. A little over a month ago I ordered it from a local store who ordered it directly from Husky (supposedly showing up in 1 week). After 2 weeks the store contacted Husky and was told it was backordered and it was gonna be 4 to 6 weeks ...ugghh. I'm guessing maybe it'll show up next spring lol

On painted areas. It's best to let paint cute for a month or so after delivery, but this tape is the same stuff the factory uses to hold exteriors emblems etc. doesn't hurt the paint/clearcoat, and is removable with heat and tar remover/glue b gone types of solvents. Never had any type of issue with the hood protector on my 2019.

The 3M tape comes attached to the Aeroskin II directly. I followed the YouTube video. The 3M tape adheres directly to the paint. I don't plan on taking it off. But I bet there could be some discoloration after five years or so?

I have used hood shields for years on my trucks and cars. Every one I have used attaches to the underside of the hood with screws

I haven't bought one for my Ranger because all the one I have seen attached with tape to the painted surface of the hood.

I think I have finally found one that attaches to the underside of the hood. It should be coming this week. If it doesn't attach to the underside of the hood I will send it back.

I'll keep you posted once I get it.

Because Husky’s Website does not have a 3.0L engine option to choose only a smaller V6 can you give us the Part Number you used for your RR. Thanks

My ERG shield attaches to the underside of the hood and NO tape or anything on top.....other than a rubber bumper on each end.

I'm seeing two at ERG. One is smoked finished and the other is black finished. Which one did you buy?
