I know there can be a lot of issues creating this soft pedal but no one has put a wrench to it yet! I'm not pressing hard on the brake pedal. Two Ford dealers and the Ford rep said this is normal. He actually said that a 2 3/4" brake pedal travel is within spec. Problem is brake pedal is at 5" from floor and gas in 3" so I'm always hitting the gas unless I left foot it?

There is no earthly reason why not to use ones left foot for braking. I learned this technique early in life while attending several Autocross courses. Why leave it lazily resting on the floorboard when it is such an important driving apparatus. Brake on brother......brake on!!

Maybe put your whole foot on the brake pedal before you press down? #science

Most cars and truck pedal sets just aren't set up for single foot operation. You either have to practice heel and toe and/or get an aftermarket setup and/or drive like a normal driver.
