Anyone else buy the Spare Tire Lock?

I’m wondering if anyone has considered carrying the spare in the bed, LOCKED to either the front bulkhead wall (if you have a topper/canopy/cap) or laying flat on the bed floor (with a topper or tonneau cover). Would be a little more secure and there would be no worries about road grime gumming up the lock mechanism.

A big negative would be you would give up some cargo space in what is already a small bed.

A positive might be you get slightly better departure clearance in offroad use.

Man, that spare comes down nice. I just tried mine out while changing the stock shackles for rear lift shackles. It comes down so smooth
