Wish I could say this was from something cool, but something hit the pillar between my rear driver door and roof and left a significant dent. A couple of PDR places said it's too deep and won't touch it, and one said they can try with the risk of paint pulling (or failure to get the dent to pop out at all) - which might leave me going the body shop route.

Does anyone have experience getting body work done with shelter green? I feel like it's a hard color to match/blend, although I'm no professional.

Oh damn yeah that’s pretty deep. They can probably get the dent out but it’ll probably crack the paint.

not sure but you’re probably looking at panel beating plus a respray. I would say it’s an insurance job. Try to find a good body shop and there’s no reason why it can’t look as good as new again. Shelter green is just like any other metallic paint?

Yeah, might end up getting on the line with my insurance company tomorrow and look around for some good shops.

Such an odd spot for it to happen, there's not even a scratch in the paint where the dent is!

I've had body work done twice. One was for a pretty deep dent on the drivers side cab right behind the door. It was low and right on the corner. Whatever it was hit hard enough to crack the paint all the way to the roof line.
They pulled the bed back and repainted the corner of the cab up through the door jamb to blend it.
You can't even tell it's been done.
The second time was to repaint the front passenger fender for a deep scratch.
I'm lucky as I found a great body shop to do this work. It comes with a life time guarantee.
Good luck and check those reviews when choosing someone to work on it.

Might be worth trying one of these before you spend a bunch of money. That may be too deep for this to get out, but it can't hurt to try.

If the paint is not damaged have a paintless dent removal person look at it,
My wife had a large tree branch hit her van above the drivers door resulting
in three dents. The guy was able to make it so you can not even tell it happened.
The cost was below my deductible.

thats going to be tough to pull on a radiused corner like that. i bet you end up going to a shop because of how deep it is but you won't even know it was there when they are done

I used "dent wizard " they are a large chain of PDR shops. I had a large fender dent.
My insurance gave me a check for $750 for repair .
Dent wizard fixed it for $250. I pocketed the rest. :sunglasses:

That sucks! I would ask your local dealer who they use as their pdr guy (paintless dent repair) and let him look at it and give you an estimate
We paid for the premium wheel and door ding coverage and last week a pdr guy our dealer uses fixed it in no time and I paid nothing. He travels the indy area to all of the different dealers on certain days. Our dents where in my wife's LR fender up near the gas cap, a piece of wood fell over in the garage and did it.

The insurance doesn't cover hail damage, only doors and side pieces etc. A pdr guy can fix it even if that specific insurance wont cover hail or a roof dent.
