In addition to protecting the front edge of the hood, some of these products are designed to push the airflow higher with the intent of reducing bugs and rocks hitting the windshield -- either with a hump that spans most of the deflector or a turned up lip at the rear of the deflector (like a mini spoiler). I can't quite tell from the photos; does this Airplex version have that kind of design or is it more of a hood protector than a bug/rock deflector (for the windshield)? Thanks

So glad to have found this thread!! I don't do double-back tape, ever! Got tired of waiting for a state-side solution to offer a properly designed hood deflector for my 2025 Ranger.

So I recently purchased the Airplex and couldn't be happier. Yeah, it cost more overall with the tariff and shipping, but worth every penny IMHO. It took 10 days total from the day I ordered (OFFTREK) until received here in Georgia. And as advertised, straightforward install with NO drilling.

I'll try to post a couple of pics.

How does it attach to the hood? I put one with the hood clips on my wife’s Kia Sportage…it wore through the clip/hood protectors and the vibrations wore the paint off. Ugh!

I was afraid of that when I installed my Airplex so I threw away the thin PPF they give you and cut out some thicker 3M PPF and used that instead.

Here's a link to a video I found very helpful that was included with the downloaded instructions: Worth noting is that the slots in each of the two plastic hood clips are specific; one slot is designed to catch the small pre-drilled hole in the deflector and the other slot slides onto the hood. So in total, there are four mount points to the hood. But, It is firm and secure. So far, so good here. I'm road tripping down to Florida next week. I don't anticipate any problems, but I'll post up if I have any deflector issues.
