ProCal doesn't let you have the ASS automatically turned off. The other tuners (5*, Livernois, Goose) can permanently disable ASS.
Your correct. ProCal does not let you turn the ASS off. But when you drive a RR in Raptor mode the ASS is automatically turned off. The truck also runs better and shifts smoother. I drive my truck in Raptor mode all the time. Therefore I don’t need a ASS eliminator nor do I need to turn it off everytime.

Sorry, I suppose for clarity, I meant I do not have any aftermarket device. My truck will retain whatever setting I had when I shut the truck off last when I start it back up.

So if I have the start/stop turned off, I then park the truck and shut it off - I go back to the truck and start it back up, and the start/stop is still in an "off" state. Which seems to render the need for the aftermarket device useless as the truck seems to be doing it already without anything tacked on from the aftermarket?
If it's an update that sucks for those of us who spent $100 on the 4D Tech module.

When you shut it off, did you use the switch in the center console or the soft switch in the driver/vehicle options? I did not find that soft switch until after I had already installed the defeat device. So, not sure how it works.

I’m not sure I know what the soft switch is? I’ve only pressed the button near the center console to turn it off.

Correct about Raptor mode as long as you save it with ASS off, that point has been made.

‘That really baffles me, I don’t think there is an update.
I say that because ‘over the past 60 days I bought 3 new 25’ Rangers , 2 of the 3 were so fresh they were in transit when I bought them. One arrived as recent as 2nd week November.

All of them needed the start stop eliminator to get rid of it.
I drove them all several hundred miles.
‘Before the eliminator..
Every time I restarted them it was back on and annoying the crap out me.

Now I suppose it could have been something in an over the air update, It would have been in the past 2-3 weeks .

Did you by chance buy your truck used, and maybe the prior owner installed an eliminator?

Nope. Brand new with I think 6 miles on the odometer when I signed the papers. 09/25 build date purchased on November 1st.

I hadn't driven the truck in several days, but started it up last night to take it out of the garage for a few things and noted that it started with the start/stop turned off. Just another "data" point...

Very Intersting.
‘When I first got my 24 RR it had a very annoying feature where if I stopped at the entry gates to my home to jump out and grab the mail, if I closed the door behind me and the truck was still running it would honk at me 3 times. Damn thing made me jump pretty much every time. Hated that feature, my Bronco did the exact same thing.

Sometime around 6 -12 months ago it stopped honking at me when I jumped out and left it running. No idea why, I just noticed one day it had quit honking at me whenever jumped out to do something with it still running. My 25 models don’t do that honking crap either.

All I can figure is there must have been an over the air update at some point that shut that damn horn honking crap off. lol 😂

With the government de-regulating of the whole start stop BS last summer, maybe Ford finally sent out an update to stop that annoying feature too.

Would love to know if anyone else without any elimination devises can shut it off and it stay off after a re-start or if yours is sort of a one off lucky fluke or something.

You can turn off the alert in settings

Mine will honk at me if I try and lock the doors with the key in the truck, running or not. It will also unlock the driver's door. I need to get a plain old door key so I can lock & unlock it while it's running without getting out my phone and opening the app. I do this often as I am always moving vehicles around and opening/closing gates.

I remember looking for it in setting on the Bronco, never did find a way to shut it off.
‘I can’t say I ever tried to find it on the Ranger. Just figured it was how it was, and was happy when it quit doing it.

Hmm. I didn’t have an issue several days ago in a similar scenario. There’s a gas station probably a mile from the house that I needed to stop at for something inside. I don’t want to start the truck up, drive it for a mile, then shut it down to then start it back up a few minutes later. I got to the gas station and parked, hopped out (with my key on my person), and then locked the truck while leaving it running to run inside real quick. No issue. I wasn’t 100% sure that it had locked as the mirrors didn’t/wouldn’t fold in, but confirmed it definitely locked when I came back out to continue my journey.

Yea, I am pretty sure I have locked mine while it was running, as long as I had the fob on me.
I will have to try it again to be sure.
