Anybody having issues when someone is in the back seat (driver or passenger side) and nothing is in the middle but the sensor still screams at you to buckle the middle seatbelt? Not even a water bottle is sitting on the center part and it still thinks someone is sitting there. The only way around it is to buckle the middle seatbelt but that’s not a sustainable solution.

Good afternoon. Would you send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this sensor concern on my end? Thanks.

I've noticed that if someone from the passenger side accidentally tries to buckle their belt into the center one, the truck will not reset that warning unless you buckle up the center belt or turn the truck off. It's silly. I have to warn new passengers to be careful. My kids know to avoid that buckle. I'm not sure there is a sensor in that seat at all. It just activates off of the buckle I really like my truck, but the constant seatbelt warning that I have to manually dismiss is my least favorite part. It should go away on its own much quicker than it does.

Yep. It's intermittent but annoying nonetheless. I need to play around with FORSCAN and see if I can disable that mess.

You'll be the hero of the forums if you can figure out how to disable that crap via ForScan. The most annoying "feature" by far with this truck.

Agreed. It’s a small thing but I get tired of having to hit ok for that notice to go away. Once all the seatbelts are fastened, it should go away on its own.

I have the same issue with my truck. If someone sits in the back seat and sets anything in the middle (i.e. a purse or small bag), I get the warning and it won't go away even after the item has been removed and set on the floorboard. The only way to remove the warning is to buckle the seat belt on the empty seat. Hopefully this can be fixed with an over the air update. Maybe give us the option to turn the rear center seat sensor OFF.

Good News. I found the solution in another thread. On Page 57 of the manual, there is a step-by-step procedure for disabling this feature on a seat-by-seat basis. I will disable the center seat first to solve my initial issue. However, I may need to disable this for the entire back seat. If you throw a box of anything on the back seat you have to buck the seat belt for that seat.

I have thrown a couple of bags on my rear driver seat quite a few times and it never has activated the seatbelt sign. The bags probably weighed at least 40 lbs.

This is the process mentioned in this post, I think:

It sounds like they got the sensor calibration correct on your truck. My wife's purse sets it off. It probably only weights 5lbs. :)

I say try to find a wife's purse that only weights 5lbs. They all have to load a piece of home in there.
A heavy piece ha ha.:D

Did this resolve your issue?

It seems to me like you could change "SeatbeltConfiguration - Row 2 Col 3" from "Fixed Seat Preset with Belt Monitor" to something else (I don't know what options are available, but this is in the IPC module, so if you have Forscan, it'd be worth a shot to load it up and check). I'm working on decoding as much of the seatbelt stuff as I can when I have time (which has been limited lately), and if I get a chance to try this, I'll post back.
