Battery tender recommendation?

I think the notification, if it's like my wife's Escape, is things stop working like the interior lights or the exterior lights when you approach the vehicle. I put it on the CTEK.

Noco Genius here as well, no complaints.

I’m looking at the Nico genius 10, is that something I can leave plugged in to maintain with the hood just not latched? Mine is always outside unfortunately.

I used to do leave the hood closed on my Mustang with the tender kind of hanging / resting on headers, extension cord coming up from under the car. On my Ranger I'm fortunate to be able to garage it, so the hood is up when charging.

I have a few different brand name maintenance chargers. My favorite is the Deltran Battery Tender.
It's the one originator. Aluminum case, grounded circuit, 10 year warranty with lifetime support.
My oldest unit is 18 years old, this one is 8 years old.

Have to agree with you on this. I've sold hundreds of these before I retired. The only time I ran into any issues was about 15 years ago as it seemed they had a bad batch manufactured. I probably sent 5-6 back to them under warranty. I would always give the customer a new one after our service department determined they were defective because I knew Delltran would send me a replacement no questions asked.

The key to long battery life is dedicated use. I had a customer get 10 years out of his Honda Foreman battery. He would put in on the tender if he wasn't using it for a week or more. I have a Honda EM6500SX generator with an AMG battery for starting, and the battery lasted 9 years because the tender was on it 24/7. Generators can sit sometimes for years before you need them.

Sometimes simple is the best. Literally plug it in and forget it. I also sold Noco Genius chargers, but it seemed most people didn't like going through the setup process for different types of batteries. I think I probably sold 15-20 Battery Tenders for every 1 NOCO. Like I said sometimes simple is the best.
