Bed extender?

Anyone have a good recommendation for bed extender? something that makes use of the space better than the ford accessory one, thanks.

I got the ford one. Using my points plus the 15% off sale made it less than $140 shipped to my house. For that price it just made most sense for me.

I went with the Ford oem bed extender. I've had it in my prior ford trucks, including my 2021 ranger tremor.

It works great and makes the bed far more flexible in terms of use, adding length when needed, a compartment between the tailgate and the extender cage to keep things from sliding around, is easy to use or remove, etc.

Looks like the side mounts screw into the threaded holes that already exist, is that right? Was there any need to drill into the box?

That is correct. And no to drilling.

I just bought the Ford bed extender. Exactly what I needed...except it is missing one bolt. Contacted the Ford Accessories people and they said my only option is to return the entire thing for a refund then order a new bed extender. Hard pass on that since I'd already assembled everything minus the one bolt install. Plus the box it came in was coming apart when it showed up. Went to my local dealership and the Parts guy tried multiple angles to get a new bolt (or even the entire hardware bag), no luck. Super frustrating. Going to try local and big box hardware stores next. I'm pretty sure I can find the right thread and length but doubtful I'll find one black powder coated to match the other 3 bolts.

I just installed the Ford version. I used my points from truck purchase. And, I got 15% off. (I was hoping the discount amount went up to 20%, but it didn’t.)

I also like the way it uses factory holes.

Assembly and install was easy, except it calls for rivets (supplied). I didn’t have a rivet gun. So, I assembled without for now. I just got a rivet gut but haven’t tried it yes.

how do the mounts attach? just drill the bed and screw them on? i have some amp research bed extender mounts left over from another truck but i don't want to drill my bed because i live 1/3 mile from the ocean and no matter how you prime and paint the holes, they end up rusting.

I don't want to drill holes either, so I think I'm gonna go with the Ford bed extender.
I miss not having one. My 2014 F150 came with a bed extender then I transferred it to my 2017 Raptor then I transferred it to my 2020 Raptor and I let it go when I traded for my 2024 Ranger Raptor.

what the heck is up with Amp that they haven't updated their hardware yet. I'd much prefer their squared off shape to the Ford one or this new one above.
