I wanted a set of these and i hadn't found any that I liked or were at an acceptable cost so i made my own. I'm gonna look into have a run waterjet out, they were a P.I.T.A. to cut out on my plasma table. These are steel but I'm gonna look into aluminum.

Nice - where are the mounting holes? Are the panels secured to the bottom of the side rails? That is my big gripe about the other brands, they are only partially supported in a few OEM bolt locations. That can’t work well over years of normal abuse. That and the mild steel - I would prefer raw 304 stainless so they are less likely to look bad in a few years and require regular recoating…

Thanks.

There's 6 attachment points. Stainless also warps extremely bad on a plasma table with my experience. I'm getting some quotes for laser cut aluminum in 1/8 inch this week. As for longevity of the mild steel, these were a proof of concept to see if they would work how I wanted.

Look good. How much did these cost you to make, or will cost when you have the aluminum ones made?

Those look really nice. I can't see anything wrong with them in the photos, even if plasma cut.
Laser or water jet will be $$$$. Why not plasma cut them from aluminum? Will 1/8" Al be thick and strong enough?

I think aluminum will be strong enough. These are 14 gauge steel and they're plenty strong. I think the aluminum will be even stronger. I'm gonna run the numbers and see if it's worth it to put some in production to bring them available here in the states.

I was thinking of doing the same out of aluminum but I need one for the front bulkhead of the bed! Also, pirate camp co in AUS sells some molle kits for the sides. costly shipping but can make it worth it if you are getting other stuff from them anyways.
