What's up guys and gals,
Welcome to Beer.Raptor build thread. As of right now I have invested more than $10k of afermarket parts on this RR to make it where I want it for off roading/overlanding in Northern California. Here are the specs of the truck.
2024 Ford Ranger Raptor in Azure Grey(Purchased in May 2024)
As of 9/1/2025 it has 20,000 miles
Mods so far:
Stek.usa - Matte PPF the whole truck with IGL ceramic coating/Tinted headlights and front 2 windows
Bynd4x4 - Camper and Awning
Hot Metal Fab - Rock Sliders
Baja Design - S2 lights for the ditch and Chase
- 40" light bar mounted on the roof rack(Not yet installed)
Method Race Wheels - 17" +35 offset 703 polish
Mickey Thompson tires - 35x12.5x17 Baja Boss AT
Rival 4x4 - Skid plates set
RARAnger au - Travel sensor protector
Ford Performance - HOSS 3.0 steering rack
Rough Country - tie rods
King Springs PH - 2" lift kit springs
Foutz Motorsports - Rear diff skid
- Lower arm frame guard with HDPE slide
- Rear shock slide
American Adventure Lab - Relocation Trailer plug
- Ceiling 1" ball mounts
KC Hilites - Rock lights
Other than that the truck is pretty much stock.
----------------------------------------------------------------
When I first got it from the dealership I took it start to MAR Quality in Newark and have then wrap the whole truck with the self healing Stek Matte PPF Wrap with IGL ceramic coating. I also had the tint the headlights.
Then I took it out to Pismo Beach to do some sand dune off roading, then Poker Flats and Bald mountain to test out the truck.
During the Bald Mountain trip I did have to utilize my running boards and slide over a boarder rock. So my surpise the running boards held up well but it was time to get some Rock Sliders. So I hit up Hot Metal Fab in Loomis, CA
Then Hot metal Fab hook me up with some ditch lights brackets
Then I hit Bynd 4x4 to make me a camper for my RR and he delivered.
Then my Rival 4x4 aluminum skid plates arrived. At this point I was trying to get the truck ready for Death Valley and Moab.
Sorry for the delay, everyone. I will pick up where I left off.
After the skids I started upgrading the small things like:
Redline Hood struts(one of the best things to do on every truck.)
I forgot I still had the Tacoma this time.
Then I bought StickerFab Overlays for the visors and the Fuse box.
In February I upgraded the tires and wheels.
Wheels are Method MR703 Bead grip machined 17x8.5 with a +35 offset
Tires are Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 35x12.5x17
After doing some trails, I noticed the rear would be sagging a lot, and the front would rub when the spring is compressed and doing a sharp turn. So, while I was in the Philippines, I picked up some King Springs PH that would lift the truck 2". Then I had the shop install the springs, the Rough Country tie rods, and the Ford Performance HOSS 3.0 power steering rack.
I temporarily removed the camper to see how the ride height would be without it. Additionally, I want to determine my mpg without the camper.
After taking the Camper off I headed out to Moab with some friends.
After the Moab trip, I added the Front Runner Roof rack with the light bar cut out. The rack itself is easy to install but it was PITA to remove the ceiling liner to access the four nuts under the roof.
Then I reinstalled the camper. Notice there was a big gap on top. Without the lightbar in place, the wind noise was crazy loud, and I was still getting a lot of drag underneath the camper.
With the lightbar installed, it reduces the wind noise by a lot, and my mpg improved.
Too be continue...
