Bigger tires 2 inch leveling kit

Has anyone put bigger tires on their truck with just a leveling kit
I have 255-70-17stock thinking about 285 70 taller and wider correct

I’m assuming your truck is not a raptor, with 255/70-17’s on it. I haven’t lifted/leveled my 25 xlt (yet), but have been reading posts about lifts and bigger tires on this site. From what I gather, you can go up to 275/70-17 tires with a 2” lift but you will need wheels with more offset (35) to avoid tire rub to go up to a 285 tire. Depending on the lift and tires picked you might still get minor rubbing with the 275’s at full lock.
Again, I haven’t done this, just read other’s posts. Try doing a search here and see what others are doing.

You are correct that they will be taller and wider. You're definitely going to need a lower offset wheel. I have +25 wheels and only 275s with a 1.5 inch leveling kit on my set up and the only rubbing I get is in reverse at full lock. 285s would most likely have a little bit of rubbing elsewhere. I think the 275s fill out the wheel well really nicely.

I recently installed 285's on +35 wheels with a 1.5" level lift. No rubbing, no trimming required.

i think my father in law has 285 on his xlt. i know they are alot bigger then the stock xlt 18 inch tires on mine

I just did 285/60R18 with a 2.5 Eibach coilover lift and new Rims with -12mm Offset (I wanted more poke since I am adding the fender flares) and I rub just barely on the front flap at full lock in reverse. No rub on crash bars.

PS - I also have brand new Bora 1.5inch Spacers for sale if you go the spacer route.

I noticed you have the bed steps, what FF did you go with? Not all of the available ones work with the steps.
