Just got the call from the dealership - 100% phasers. It's an engine out service their doing. Parts by Wednesday and hopefully one a week from today.
I hope your service happens in a much more timely manner. I'm on day 10 of my truck being on the lift and torn apart.

Obviously with internet forums, human behavior has shown most people don't jump online to declare their truck is working just fine. We typically only post on forums about issues when we have issues.

Does anyone know what percentage of 3.0L engines have Cam Phaser issues? I don't pretend to know. I am just posing the question.

Im an employee who has spent $200k in the last 3 years. Exactly which list does that put me at the bottom of?
On the same list with the rest of us. I use to think the same. I spend x dollars at a dealership over time, heck, there should be a loyalty bonus, right?....Or certainly more attention should be paid to my problem, right?....Nope. It's a sad reality.

Next to your home, vehicles are next on the list for what's called a high involvement purchase and high $$$. Groceries and electronics are much different. OEM's measure lifetime loyalty so it must be important for a brand as consumers typically don't buy a new vehicle that often.

Absolutely, Forums have always been focal point for owner issues and problems. Hasn’t changed since their inception.

This like other forums are a small percentage of actual owners and those problems. I don’t think anyone knows for sure and I haven’t seen any statistics or indication Ford does either.

Taking in account the other mechanical issues that have arisen, it’s a small percentage from the actual number manufactured. I can only suggest to monitor the NHTSA recalls with the vehicle and the current Ford TSB’s.

I suspect it’s Defective Parts from outsourcing. Doesn’t affect all just those that utilized the defective parts lots.🇺🇸

Most people are not buying new cars, brand loyalty means nothing.

I had to stop looking at the USA RR fb group because it is nothing but cam phaser hand wringing and videos asking if theirs have issues.

Who can weigh in on what is really an actual issue that needs addressing? My truck has been noisy and sits in high rpms on cold start until it settles and warms up - I give it minutes before driving every time for engine health. This is pretty typical of most modern vehicles This being a performance engine and vehicle I expect it to seem more pronounced.

I don't detect any performance issue elsewhere. What is the defining issue diagnosis here?

I am on the mindset to send it until there is a problem, and if there is, there is a new vehicle warranty for a reason.

Same here, I'm at 7,500 miles. and no issues. Fuel economy is great and idles nice too, using full synthetic for good measure. I have the extended warranty so I'm not going to concern myself with what I can't control.

So I've known my cam phasers were bad from the factory. I waited for official recognition from Ford that there was a problem before attempting a warranty repair. I had my truck inspected and the dealership agreed I had bad cam phasers. 6 weeks for the parts to arrive, 2 more weeks to schedule the repair. My truck has now been on the lift for 8 days. The first 2 days it got worked on. The next 6 days it just sat there. I am frustratingly close to starting a buy back from Ford. I have purchased 3 new Ford's in the last 3 years for quite a bit of money. The repair process is not going to make it easy for me to buy another one. I do love this truck...but who needs a $60k paperweight?

5 years 60k miles under the powertrain warranty
