This is the way
Clearly you are changing your own oil. I want to do the same. But what do you think would happen if for some reason you have to take your truck to the Ford dealership to have an oil change? Especially if it is still under warranty. Do you think the technician would know what to do with this valve/plug or would he just toss it in the trash and stick in the standard yellow plug and charge you for it? Has this happened to anyone?

Honestly, if the tech is unable to figure out how to drain the oil from this plug, you have bigger problems. I would just give them a heads up that you have the plug installed or ask if it would be a problem before you take it in. I kept the stock plug under the rear seats just in case I need it, but I’ve not had anyone change my oil for over 20 years.

I made a note of this when I installed it. I will discuss with service writer and I usually wait for the truck when oil is changed. So if there are questions I'm there to handle it. I will handle most oil changes myself though.

My buddy has that one on his hennessey raptor. We were just talking about it yesterday afternoon. He said its a very well made part, and he usually does a fumoto valve but this one looked very nice, so he bought it.
