Looking at buying a xlt with black interior. I will have a dog in the truck frequently with a gravel driveway. How easy, how well does the black fabric seats cleanup?
Hair is not a issue. Is a leather like seat cover my best bet?

My experience with upholstery is that the only thing that works really well is a upholstery cleaning machine. You can rent carpet cleaning machines with an upholstery attachment from a lot of stores. I have the same issue, thinking about buying seat covers.

I bought a set of car seat protectors from Walmart of all places. Mostly gray but they fit really well. They also had 2 door protectors and a barrier that hooks onto the back seats to keep Fido from jumping into the front. Less than $40

Not a direct answer to your question because I use a seat cover for 1. protection of the backseat and 2. has board that allows the full use of the back area instead of just the seat, but keep in mind you can lower the back of the seat down if you don’t want to go the seat cover route. That way the dog isn’t ever on the seat cushion itself.

I had a '21 XLT with essentially the same seat material as my '24 XLT. The seats are fairly stain resistant and what does stay, cleans up pretty easily with upholstery cleaner. I don't travel with my dog too often and he has black hair, so I can't speak to that issue, but the stuff my daughter drops under her booster seat comes out without issue.

We use a seat extender "hammock" for our dog. Gives him more room and creates a stable platform for cargo as well. We rarely have passengers in the back seat (other than our dog) but it's pretty easy to remove. In general it keeps the dirt and hair off the seats.

A sport seat cover, the type you would sit on after a run when you may be sweaty, has worked well for my dog. Easy to remove when you want a human in the back seat instead of a canine. Most of us prefer a dog who never complains, wants to drive or tell you how to drive. The cover catches any dirt and can be washed and a good vacuum cleans up any hair. Seats in todays trucks are really good at being dirt resistant and clean up well with any upholstery cleaner.

Do they make one of these for the passenger seat? He's a small dog mostly rides up front with me. If so where would I find one Amazon maybe?
