I happen to work at a Dealership here in colorado.... and our first Ranger Raptor coming in for a customer is also listed as "in transit"

I personally would not say it is fake news. There are 15-30 showing in my system across the us that are showing as in transit, everything else still shows at the plant.
From what I understood.. this was all done by Ford themselves and the dealership has absolutely no control on it

I feel like this will be a good way to track my own truck once it gets a VIN…

see I say this because my order is being put in as a Retail order but they for some reason are saying it’s flag where it’s for their lot to sell and not a special order so I would not get a email from FORD on production updates or something… it is a guaranty allocation but I just assume they flagging it this way so it will try to be pushed out as late as possible as I don’t want the truck till closer to the end of the year..

since I won’t get the emails from Ford.. then I could just use their website to see when they post it..

A dealer outside Philadelphia, not far from me, is listing a brown RRaptor for sale, and as "in transit". Probably fake news. And he has an $11k markup, bringing it to $70k. No thanks!

Not fake news. It's the dealership I got mine from. They had mine listed up there (said it happens automatically) as well as "in transit" but they called me to confirm I still wanted it then removed the listing. Maybe they didn't sell this one or the buyer is having remorse.

FYI - I didn't pay that market rate adjustment either.

It populating on their website is from Ford. The price is either inputted by them or an algorithm is created in which it self populates when the listing drops from ford. I don't know which they did.

Once vehicle goes into production it populates automatically on dealer website. Mine just did on my dealer's site. He's going to mark sold on the listing or take it down so people aren't inquiring on it.
I don’t believe this happens automatically.
So we are to believe that there’s someone sitting behind a computer at Ford listing every Ranger Raptor that goes into production? You really think they could go on the dealer’s website to add each vehicle?
Ford doesn’t own the dealerships nor do I believe they have access to the dealers website. Dealers are owned by individuals or investor groups, not Ford.

I mean this is what I been told by both Planet Ford and my Dealership next to me that the In Transit posts are done by Ford and they can’t do anything about it… they had that Ford Ranger still on their website and they keep getting calls about it.. they would love to take that listing down ASAP but they just can’t

lol ok. They prefer to keep it posted because they love all the calls and interest they get from it being posted. Why would a dealer be against getting calls for a vehicle?
I just don’t believe that.
The dealers control their own websites, they aren’t controlled by Ford Motor company
Furthermore, my Raptor has been in production for 3 days now. It’s not showing up on my dealers website, been having the Vin and order since December.

Actually, we have to go on and remove the vehicle as it is added automatically from Ford's system. (no, someone is not inputting them from ford) And just so you are informed correctly, Ford does not own the dealerships, but absolutely has their hands on our websites and automatically adds what is coming in, regardless if they are a special order or for stock!

The dealer websites are through a Ford subcontractor [ford wanted sites to look and work the same]and yes one vehicles are invoiced, it is auto populated on the dealer site. I'm sorry u can't handle the truth. We are people in the business trying to tell you how it works. But hey, we probably know your business better than you do, too.
