Dealer wants a $20K mark-up... Anyone else been hit with this???

I called a dealer by me last week and they had a blue Raptor waiting to be shipped and they were selling at MSRP so I put a deposit down on it. I got lucky I suppose because I didn’t even start looking for them until that day.

This truck should be coming - eventually - to Jay Hodge Ford in Morrilton, Arkansas. It was my original retail order, but I got tired of waiting since it was built on 3/11 and still hasn't shipped. They had a stock order that came in, so I went with that instead. They quoted MSRP on both trucks. Ask for Steve Pruitt and tell them the guy that bought their Shelter Green Raptor sent yau.

Just paid 2,500 over for the exact spec I wanted. Could have gotten a different spec at MSRP, or built through a dealer I know at MSRP and waited, but was worth the slight premium to get exactly what I wanted and without a build wait. Whole process took a week, getting it tomorrow. Does it feel great paying over sticker, even a slight bit? Nope. Will I regret it? Likely not

Ordered my Raptor in June with a 500$ deposit and at MSRP and got it in writing ( or print )

Nothing wrong with that. It is your money, and I'd bet you will be very happy with your decision.

They had mine at $10K over, but sold it at sticker without too much haggling. I expected a hard stop at $5K.

The same dealer has a Raptor R and it's marked up $50K!

MSRP is out there. I got mine in the west coast for msrp. Those crazy markup are for fools with too much money.

Was just browsing on carfax. Lots of used ones now. Most still at MSRP or a lot higher.
Carfax average value seems to be $64K.

I'm buying one tomorrow, the first thing I asked was about a mark up. My dealer sells them at sticker price, I was amazed.

I got mine last month at sticker price from my hometown dealer. All the other dealers I searched were adding between $2500 - 10K over sticker. Even the dealer I purchased two other vehicles from was asking $2500 over and wouldn't back down. Funny thing is it's still sitting there while I'm driving mine...
