I am currently considering replacing my 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave with either another 2024 version or a RR. Prior to this vehicle I have always been a Ford person and have never had issues with my Mustangs and an Escape. The Jeep has been a solid performer but the RR looks like an awesome vehicle. I know these forums are a place to have issues resolved but the magnitude of issues with new deliveries, delivered vehicle problems, and post delivery problems is really worrisome for a new vehicle with a relatively small population of delivered vehicles. Are things really this bad on this vehicle? Has Ford really become this oblivious to customer feedback and totally focused on production and the bottom line?

I traded in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon for a Ranger Raptor. Picked mine up 2 weeks ago. Build date of April 18th. The only things I've found so far are the driver side door is slightly misaligned and a couple of small blemishes on the paint. Oh, and the passenger side Raptor sticker is crooked. Very minor things.

I only noticed the paint stuff because I went over it with a fine tooth comb while ceramic coating it. Some small angled marks on the leading edge of the drivers door a couple of inches below the mirror and what looked like a snail trail on the hood above the passenger side headlight.

I traded my 2020 Gladiator on Ranger Lariat. Received the truck a couple weeks ago. I have only one very minor scuff on the paint that I can polish by hand and a dirty grab handle in the back seat. These are minor annoyances IMHO. I have not had anything more than that so far.

My biggest gripe regarding the Ranger is the requirement of adding the J Braces if installing a topper or bed rack. This was almost a deal killer, but I went through with the purchase since the cost to install will be manageable.

I cant comment on the US built units but my Raptor built in Thailand has been faultless apart from one minor loose wire that threw up an intermittent fault .
Ford quickly resolved this under warranty.
Paintwork is 100% and im fussy as i paint cars and even after 25,000 kilometers travelled in Ozzy sun it still is perfect and presents as a new car.
No rust anywhere , and interior is perfect with the only mods ive done are to the tune giving more power but still looks like it rolled out of the showroom which is the way I intend to keep it.

These trucks have been out a while now in Aus and there is no real horror stories with them and they are flying out of the showrooms .

Just my 2C

I traded a 23 overland gladiator for a RR and it was such an awesome trade up.

I’ve had many jeeps in the past and almost all of them had some trash in the paint upon delivery except for the gladiator which surprised me. I had to decontaminate the paint several times to battle rail dust rust marks but aside from that no concerns.

The rr had some small pimples of contamination in the paint and a few small scratch marks in the door jambs. The car had maybe 10 miles on delivery so this is just oversight from the factory.

The driving experience is night and day, with the rr being an amazing experience (with very similar mpgs).

Im going to do a hard bed cover so its a mild annoyance to have to consider when to get the j braces but im so beyond happy with the rr overall I’ll just suck it up and shell out the money when the time comes.

You might get lucky with the J Braces.. I did.

I ordered them online from Ford Parts, which took about a month because they were backordered, and then scheduled a service appointment. Service writer said that it showed up as warranty work, verified that I was planning to put something on top and needed them, and wrote it up under warranty so I didn't pay a dime there. Just the parts cost. There's a thread on here about someone doing it themselves and it not being a fun time, so I went in expecting to pay for it and was pleasantly surprised it got warrantied with zero effort on my part.

I will say you might want to drop it off if you can, it took one of their higher level techs a half a day of labor, but it was also the first one they had done.

I miss the larger back seat of the gladiator but love the punch of the 3.0 turbo V6 the RR has, interior is much nicer in the ford but the sound system in my gladiator was much better.

^^^ He's right, the Gladiator has the best interior comfort/volume in the segment by a long shot. It's also really nice having the option to remove the top and doors. The resale is going to be better. The payload and therefore towing is better. I had two Gladiators, gas with Max Tow package and a diesel. Loved them both. Really the only thing the Ranger has over on the Gladiator is the horsepower and torque. Now that the EcoDiesel is gone, there's nothing left in the segment as torquey as the EcoBoost that Ford has.

One more thing the Ranger has over the Gladiator is the Gladiator is the ugliest pickup on the market.

I test drove both 2024 models. Gladiator first and really liked it. RR second and after that test drive it was just a matter of finding a Ford dealer that would give me MSRP price. My RR will be here end of July. Less ground clearance and less aftermarket items for RR but man it's wayyy better. Jeeps drive horrible on the blacktop also.
Hope that helps

This is factually correct. They also depreciate like a rock.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me the Ranger is the most plain and "old" looking truck in the segment. And I remember when people here on this forum complained about the same when we first saw spy shots. Have you seen a Gladiator on a small lift and 35" tires? They are just amazing and rugged looking trucks.

As far as depreciation, you've got to be kidding. I paid $56k for my last one, drove it for 18 months and put 15,000+ miles of hard use on it, then got $53k trade in. Show me another truck with that level of resale. I'll wait. Also, the residual values on them for leasing have traditionally far surpassed the competitors' trucks because of how great the resale value is.

My 2020 F150 Raptor held it's value pretty good. I owned it for 4 years and 52K miles. I paid $56K and got $48K in trade towards my 2024 Ranger Raptor.

Appearance is highly subjective. Obviously. I think they're ugly.

What year did you trade yours in? Because every one I've seen at my dealership has depreciated DRAMATICALLY in the last few months. No one wants them.

Gladiator is the better toy, offroad, and personalization truck.

Ranger is the better everyday vehicle, highway driver, and more useful truck. More versatile to use as a work truck or everyday truck with its different engine selections and more practical bed, etc. Better highway suspension and torque/hp.

Both are great options for different purposes.
