Posting for those interested in this cover and would like to see how it looks installed. They released it around Thanksgiving and I picked it up during their BF sale. Straightforward install, although it took some more time than the one for my F150 raptor. Some things to note:
At this time, SB won't pre-install the Yakima base tracks for this cover (they do for the F150). Not difficult, but with the short bed, you need to be precise where you choose to drill your holes to not hit any hardware underneath.
My cover was sent with too short of lock-rod guide brackets and I ended up cutting a small notch into the bedrail (plastic and Steel part) for it to clear to lock. I should have reached out to DB before doing so, but with it being the Christmas week I was in a rush to get it installed and didn't want to wait for an answer. The directions do reference possibly needing to trim the plastic portion of the bed rail IF there was overhang, but I later found out I should have been sent longer brackets to clear the bed rail. Just a heads up if you encounter the same. You can see what I mean in the photo with the Pelican case from above.
The SE cover only comes with 4 anchor cleats at the 4 corners. I added 8 more so it had the same # of anchor points as the HD cover on my F150 raptor. Also added their light and toolbar on the rear panel.
Also installed the Pelican BX255 Case for more storage since limited inside the Cab. I ordered the XBEDMT-002-BLK bed mounts, but these do not work for the ranger bed. The bed appears to be too narrow for the length of these brackets. Rather than returning, I ended up modifying the Case to mount the bracket lower on the case to make it work. Also had to drill into the bed rails (just the plastic portion) and use the Tacoma adaptors vs the Universal ones. Not ideal, but was able to make it work. Just a heads up if looking to do something similar.
