So, I purchased a used 2024 Ford Ranger Lariat 4x4 off road. Fully loaded. Love all the bells and whistles BUT. When I engage the Cruise control the auto lane keeper engages also. Love that feature also but it constantly alert to keep hands on steering wheel. Even if you have hands on the steering wheel but don’t move the wheel it still alerts. Very annoying. Any work around?

I get the same warning on my Ranger and even on other products that have this feature. It seems to me that unless you're willing to add input at random intervals, most of these systems will warn you that you're not engaging enough. It's not a self-driver, so from a litigation perspective, it wants you to participate in the process.

Just my thoughts

Go into your center stack touch screen and adjust

It's sensing driver input into the wheel so if you're flowing with the computer wheel adjustments it's not sensing your input. I solve this by just pressing the steering wheel a little to the left or right so I'm kind of resting against the truck's steering wheel inputs. Remember, it's not sensing your hands being on the wheel, it's sensing you making inputs to the wheel.

In my RR I put the steering into sport mode when using adaptive cruise control, seems to limit the amount of alerts I have due to the increased sensitivity of steering input. Not sure if the non raptor variant has a sport steering mode but if it does it might reduce the alerts.
