So when I start the truck, it shows me the status of each of the seatbelts in the center of the information screen/instruments and I have to hit OK to clear it. Is there not a way to disable this? I did an online chat with Ford and they said nope, can't change it. Kind of annoying.

They cracked that with ForScan on the Maverick but ForScan has yet to update for the Ranger IPC that would contain that code.

If is just a matter of time and ForScan stuff for the new Ranger has been slow.

Once I get the IPC module to show up in Forscan, Ill mess around with it to figure out what codes work. Its the most annoying thing in the truck for me as well.

Using ForScan (version 2.3.62) on a '24 Ranger XLT via OBDLink EX, I was able to set the following address codes on IPC module to remove the seatbelt notification and stop any seatbelt related chimes.

DESCRIPTIONMODULEADDRESSCODE
seatbelt menu & chimeIPC720-13-010000-0000-0000
remove seatbelt notification requiring "OK" inputIPC720-13-020000-0000
IPC720-14-010000-0000-0000
IPC720-14-020000-0000

These values were taken from a spreadsheet that I found somewhere (maybe on this forum) listing a handful of next gen ranger address code explanations within the context of ForScan programming.

EDIT: I'll try to find the link for the gdoc spreadsheet. I currently only have a locally saved PDF of it as that's what I do when I find things like this to avoid the potential of cloud resources disappearing.

EDIT2: Here it is.

I am amazed by folks like you who have the skill sets to do things like this. I’m still trying to figure out how to get a person’s text number into a contact card without having to write it down first.

Anyway, this ForScan stuff is amazing to me and while I know I do not have those skill sets I do wonder if I can find someone who can make these kind of changes in my RR (I absolutely hate that seat belt stuff).

Where would I start to find someone that knows ForScan and could make changes for me? I assume it would not be my ford dealership.

Thanks again for your work.

So the warning is gone all together, belts fastened or unfastened? I wonder if there's a way to keep it if a belt is not fastened yet. I don't mind the red display, but the all green is unnecessary.

Correct. After changing the previously mentioned codes, there are no warnings, dialogs, or lights concerning seatbelt status on my cluster/info screen.

You could play around with those 4 codes and see if you can get a more finely tuned result that fits your individual use case. Obviously, that could be time consuming.

EDIT: I should have documented my own process with this, but I seem to recall that there were some settings in there where I could program the functionality of individual seats. The result of this was that the warning dialog that comes up then only seems to know the status of the remaining seats that are still programmed as having a wired/monitored seat belt buckle.

Of course, there's always the option to only disable belt minder. On my truck, that did not seem to have any effect on the info screen warnings (click OK to make them go away for that drive cycle.) but did stop the chime.

I went through a few iterations of this until I realized that ultimately I'm not interested in any sort of belt minder or warning about seatbelts at all. So the settings posted were what I settled on and work for my use case.

Cool, thanks for the info. BTW I actually got rid of the chime noise without Forscan - just by following the steps amazingly documented in the user manual (driver and front passenger only). I might still disable this all together like you did - the OK thing just bothers me....

I can read the IPC using the latest version of Forscan, but I cannot write to it. How are you guys making changes and writing them back to the module? I get a "service interrupted" error every time.

Will have to try this when I get home tonight. Thank you!
