Either my passenger side front door or that side of the dashboard is making a tapping noise when going over bumps. I've had my truck for a year now and this just started when the weather here on Minnesota recently began warming up. It only seems to happen in the morning when the temperature outside is in the 50s or 60s. The tap is just one, right after the bump, as opposed to a rattle. However, if I'm on a bumpy road, the sound is constant with each bump. It almost sounds like something is flexing and snapping back. I'm having trouble pinpointing the sound, so I thought I'd ask if anybody else was experiencing this.

dang, you will have to have someone drive while you sit over there and listen to find it. i hate stuff like that, it drives me crazy.

my wife put something in the passenger door pocket and when i went over bumps, it made a very light tap, like yours. it drove me crazy till i found it.

I have this too! Mine is more of a rattle though...coming from the driver-side front door/A-pillar area and also the driver side rear door. It's driving me insane!

I'm taking in my truck for an oil change next week and will have them fix it then. Not acceptable IMO for brand new 60k truck with less than 4k miles on it.

Had a similar issue. The tapping was coming from the passenger front door behind the lock buttons. Pulled the panel off and put a piece a rubber tape behind the lock module and the tapping with away. The door locks are a plastic module that is held to the door by some rubber grommets (I think) that has a couple of plastic tabs on the back, the tabs were causing my issue.

Did you ever notice the outside temperature correlating to the tapping? Mine goes away as it warms up during the day.

No, it was a constant tap over any bumps.

Mine was the passenger seatbelt buckle was twisted around and created tapping on the plastic pillar. Flipped it back and no more tapping noise. Usually after someone rides in the passenger seat it gets turned around and I have to turn it back around.

That was the first thing I checked.

Dude same!!! It’s driving me insane. It sounds like there’s a socket in the door cup holders but they are empty. Any resolution yet??

I believe I'm having the same issue but on the driver side (it's driving me nuts), does the panel just pull off individually?

Only did the passenger side but assume driver is the same. There are a couple of screws hidden behind a cover near the handle that you have to take out first. Then you can work the panel off.

There is a vid on YouTube that can show you. It’s for a Ranger Raptor but same process … guy was adding sound deadening in the doors and goes over how he pulls the panels off.

Good luck!

Add me to the list. I notice it coming from the bottom corner of the windshield on the drivers side. I've had the truck for 10 months and it has only started since the weather warmed up here in Nebraska.
