Dumb question... how do you remove the bedrail caps?

carefully lifting and using a small pick to push the clip teeth out of the latch position. Just prying will not work it stretches the plastic or they will break.

No wonder I get so much dust in the bed. I installed a tailgate seal kit that helped a lot but riding out west for a week you get a light dusting all over your gear.

I don't want to remove the entire assembly, just the 6 rectangular caps that tend to leak...

There are tabs that face front and back.
I used a plastic pry tool to get up under the middle of the long side of the cap. You could also do it with a flat head screwdriver - just be careful not to scar the plastic.
If you zoom in on the photo, you’ll see the cover with the tabs.

I simply used some black automotive sealant around those and it helps tremendously.
