• However, as of 2026, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has yet to create a standard or issue a final rule for this technology, and has told Congress that there is no commercially available driver alcohol impairment detection system that meets the requirements of the law and is ready to be installed in vehicles.Buy a ‘25 or ‘26 while you can. Ford is only removing features, raising prices, and adding the AI camera.
this seems to be a fleet customer thing"In a partnership with Samsara, Ford has announced that...."
Regardless, it’s more likely than not that Ford will include the DDMS camera in the ‘27s. You’d be a fool to trust Ford / this administration not to abuse it.• However, as of 2026, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has yet to create a standard or issue a final rule for this technology, and has told Congress that there is no commercially available driver alcohol impairment detection system that meets the requirements of the law and is ready to be installed in vehicles.
• While Congress can create a law telling NHTSA to make sure cars have a feature by a certain date, the feature typically is not required until NHTSA actually issues a final rule.

You have no proof that it will not be. At this point it’s more likely than not to be included.Stop spreading unfounded conspiracy theories. There will not be "AI cameras" in 2027 vehicles.
And... where is this proof that it is likely? You have no proof that it will not be. At this point it’s more likely than not to be included.
it doesn’t seem to appear in the f150 or expedition 2027 ordering guides. Doubt it will be added in any 2027 as it is an additional costRegardless, it’s more likely than not that Ford will include the DDMS camera in the ‘27s. You’d be a fool to trust Ford / this administration not to abuse it.
It’s already in a lot of vehicles. Tesla,Subaru for example has eye monitoring systems. All that needs to be done is a simple software update.And... where is this proof that it is likely?
Other than Congress passing a currently-impossible-to-implement-law, I have seen zero "proof" there will be AI-overlord cameras taking over our vehicles any time in the near future. IF this even stays on the books, I would be surprised if ANY vehicles get this tech before 2030
while there are systems to monitor drivers, non of them currently meet the accuracy requirementsIt’s already in a lot of vehicles. Tesla,Subaru for example has eye monitoring systems. All that needs to be done is a simple software update.
That's not how that works. It’s already in a lot of vehicles. Tesla,Subaru for example has eye monitoring systems. All that needs to be done is a simple software update.
