Does the Ford factory bed liner start turning gray like the GM ones do after a few years?
Can anyone with one let me know? How has it held up over the years?

I have the LineX in my 16 Canyon, and it's still gloss black. I'm debating if I should get a factory liner or spend the few extra buck on an aftermarket with a lifetime warranty.
Thanks

I have it in my 2013 F150. I don't have anything beside it to compare to, but I don't feel it turned gray. Its held up pretty well (IMO) but one thing is that its not on the tailgate, just a plastic cover. But this is also the first gen of the pop out step and the hand hold sits on top. All that to say, I think you can specify better where the bedliner is applied with LineX if you want.

Having had both on multiple occasions now, unless you want Ford warranty coverage on it, line x etc is a better way to go as you can dictate coverage, color, etc of the spray in liner.

This will be my 4th Truck with the factory sprayed in liner.
2011 F350, 2015, 2019 F150 and 2024 Ranger.
I have never had any issue.

My 22 Ranger has the factory liner and still looks the same as new but mine in under a tonneau cover. But saying that I'm getting the Line-X this time.

Had several over the years, factory and line-x. Pitched firewood, axes, mauls and chainsaws on them. Shoveled dirt and gravel also. Maybe slightly grayed over the years being out in the weather but nothing extreme. No complaints with either version. Gotta say i do like the looks of the ford logo being on the factory version. Oh, the first I ever had way back was a plastic drop in, busted it little bit in a few places after couple years but not bad enough to have to replace. Biggest complaint I had with the plastic was things slid around in the bed with it.

I am also getting LineX done, I don't like how many places the factory liner doesn't cover.

It also helps that the LineX installer is only 7 minutes from my house if there are any issues.

This is my 2017 F150 with the factory bedliner. It has lived outside, 24 hours a day in the Arizona desert, since August of 2017. I use the hell out of it. I’ve hauled motorcycles, tractor attachments, furniture, garden tools, hay bales, landscaping materials, you name it.

Now, one caveat: You can see I’ve got a thick rubber stall mat in there (like they use in horse barns), and obviously that helps to protect the bed, but I mainly got it because Ford uses aluminum in the F150 bed, and I knew I would be dropping heavy, sharp items like tractor buckets in there. But you can look at the wheel wells and the tailgate and see the spray liner has held up quite well. (Better than the stupid plastic cover from the tailgate step!)

I’ve been very impressed with it. The Ford liner only cost something like $450, almost half of what Line-X types would cost you, and it saves you the hassle of having to get it done on your own, after the fact. Plus, it’s warrantied. I don’t know if they spray the Ranger tailgate like this, though…

Line-X is great, no doubt. But unless you’re carring boulders or snowmobiles or something back there, I don’t know if it’s worth it…

I'm not sure I'll even be lining my bed. I plan on getting a bed rug and/or rubber mat like Moto26 has and that's probably it.

I have line x in my current ranger. Is there a difference between the ford spray in liner and line x? I thought it was more about who did it vs how well it works.

I would never get the plastic drop in liner.

Ya that looks dull and faded compared to my 2016 LineX.... I'll blow the extra $200 and get a LineX and get a lifetime warranty. Although it doesn't look as bad as my neighbor's GM liner, His looks almost pale on his jet black truck (he's super not happy with it)....
Thanks for the pic, that's what I was hoping to see.
