Yes, but nice to deter those who are dishonest as well (release latches and completely covered cord). Wish all Tonneau cover manufacturers took this into consideration.
I agree but also points for EZ access. I know my 26 XLT's tailgate can only be unlocked via keyfob for inside cab as there is no physical key access on tailgate. If the unlock actuator ever broke the coat hanger would be useful ;)

The EZ Lift MX4 with the paddles is great if you are worried about someone breaking in using a coat hanger on the cord release design, however, I will say having been in this industry for over 10 years I have had the chance to try and get into a closed cover and it is actually way more difficult than many think. I was unsuccessful after 15 minutes

Architect... over 40 years. Not retired.... 'cause I haven't gotten tired for the 1st time yet!
I had used the Coverking Rhinohide seat covers previously as well as the Caltrend Neoprene and both were fantastic fit and quality on my F-150 and Expedition.

For my 2026 Ranger Lariat, I made several of the add on/exchange mods mentioned previously.

I may have missed earlier comments but door sill protection was high on my list. I chose TufSkinz & folded about 1/4" down (vertically) to protect the outside corner... mentioned by others on the forum as a wear point problem. These work for me.

I have (I think) a BAKflip G2 on my F150 and it has been the best solution for my needs. I looked at a comparison of the MX4 vs the Leer and, for my needs, the BAKflip is a better fit. Seat covers will be months down on my list of things to do. What I would love to find, is a fool-proof way to contain dog hairs. Two 80 lb Labs can almost shed their body weight daily it seems.

Nice... however my original answer was only security concern, not knowing if the MX4 had paddles and completely covered cord. I see many covers on the market that have just a bare cord and nothing for additional security. Nice to see the MX line does.

I went with tonneau cover, running boards and seat covers. Put the seat covers in because I was sweating when I got into the truck. Makes the interior look much nicer.

Line-X, hood struts, center console screen protector and a ronin valve were my first 4 mods. That and pull all of the stickers and graphics off.
