I happen to get a look at the workshop manual after doing a level on my truck. I mounted my Eibach shocks with the lower perch in the same orientation as it was stock. Looking at the shop manual it looks like Ford had them mounted backwards. My LH side was facing the rear and my RH side was facing the front. Below are pics of my LH before uninstalling. Geez. Debating on if I take it apart and orient the shocks per the workshop manual.

Perhaps this is why some Raptor guys are seeing their spring rub the dust boot?

Does anyone have pictures of their stock front spring orientation on XL, XLT, or Lariat? Preferably an FX4.

I'll take a look at the service manual and then my Raptor today if I remember. I *think* I remember the shocks and springs being labeled LH and RH when I did my level, but I removed the dangling tags because they annoy me.

Hmmm, I wonder if it makes a big difference. It seems odd that one faces forward and the other reward. I didn't pay attention to this when I put a level lift. For strut spacers, you have to rotate the upper strut 60degrees to align the bolts.

I would presume it matters since the lower perch is angled. And the angle of the shock, since the control arm connection is outboard of the shock top mount? I have a feeling Ford put it in the workshop manual for a reason.

I went ahead and uninstalled and reinstalled per the workshop manual orientation. Also, Eibach's zinc coating is not great, so i took the opportunity to scuff up the zinc some and sprayed 2K clear coat on the shocks.
