Has anyone purchased the Ford perimeter alarm system and had a Ford dealership install it. Wondering cost and how you like the system.

I bought one from oempartsonline and installed it myself. I think I paid about $250. It wasn't that hard to put in, hooks to the same box/harness as the 4dtech auto start/stop eliminator (I have them daisy chained and they both work fine).

Only fun part was finding a place to put it. I originally put it behind the kick trim near the gateway module, but I found I had to fish it out more than once to adjust the sensitivity, and the alarm was super sensitive on one side of the truck and really weak on the other. Later I realized you could wedge it between one of the floor vent ducts and the frame behind the glovebox which worked better as it left the adjustment knob exposed, centered the unit better, and put it where I could route the led from the center console upper trim (by the airbag light) since the cable on that is super short.

As for the alarm itself I've found it's extremely sensitive even turned most of the way down... My neighbor sets it off CONSTANTLY with his Harley... It even sets itself off when you remote start it if you don't unlock and relock the truck first which is annoying, but I'd still rather have it than not. I can still turn it down a little bit more, but then it doesn't give a warning honk when you pull on the door handles anymore which I'd like to try to keep.

I do also like that it sends a notification to the app when the alarm goes off. Though it seems to be a little delayed. That's about all I have to say about it!

Also the install manual didn't come in the box, but I found a copy here on the forum somewhere... I can dig it up again if you need, but right now I have to get to sleep.

Thank you so much for this info. It is a great help. If you get a chance would love install instructions. Dealership wants 250 to install which seems ridiculous.

I still had a copy on my phone. See attached!

Do also note the LED is sold separately if you want it... I tried to buy it from a Ford dealer, but they had it marked as needing to be installed by a dealer so they refused to sell it without a $70 install fee, so I ended up buying that on ebay.

I installed the Ford Perimeter Alarm System. As mentioned earlier, find a good spot to mount it so you can get to it to make sensitivity adjustments. If having it dealer installed, make sure they do not hide it.
I just purchased (arrived on 12/2) the LED Anti-theft flasher (without installation) from Levittown (SAVE50SHIP saves 50% on shipping).
It has been out of stock for months.
I also attempted to purchase this from my dealer without the installation cost and they could not figure out how to. Not sure why FORD requires $70 installation on the LED.
Now I have to figure out where to install the LED flasher (any suggestions/photos?).

I put mine in the corner of the little arch above the center console. I took it out and drilled a 9/32" hole, popped the led in and put it back in. I routed the wire down following the cable for the airbag light (I stuck a fish tape up from the glove box side to pull it down).

I had one put in my Bronco when I got my Badlands. Its super sensitive but works great. Price went up significantly for this truck over my Bronco.

For those who have installed it, is there a way to temporarily disable it, possibly from the Sync4 screen? I can think of a few times I may not want it on, such as camping in a windy campground.

I mean, you can just turn the sensitivity all the way down. There is no way to disable it in software that I can tell. But also this isn't something that's going to go off in a wind storm unless you have it way too sensitive to begin with. I have mine really low to avoid false alarms from my neighbor blasting by on his chopper, but it's still sensitive enough that if you pull on a handle it'll give you the single honk warning.
