Primarily has to do with the height of the iPhone 16 camera lenses. It’s about 1/8” higher than the back of the iPhone. Doesn’t set flat on the pad.
I use a coiled, expandable, USB C cord. I keep it in the phone holder mostly at eye level. There are also phone mounts available, that are mag safe and have a charger built in. So it’s not a big deal.
It will charge if it’s not jostled around but it’s a rather weak charging pad and doesn’t do a good job.

Didn’t buy the truck to fit the phone or the phone to fit the truck.
