Have you tried it in a DriveMode that also causes a mechanical change, like 4L? Because there it would make sense if you turn off the vehicle briefly while off-road”after all, the transfer case can’t instantly switch back to a normal mode when shutting down.

Okay. That would, of course, be a fantastic pop-up. I have never seen it on my Ranger, which I have owned since August 2024.

On long drives, I always manually switch to Eco mode and, of course, turn off the vehicle that way as well.

In my German manual, it is written exactly as it is:
Translation:
Ford Ranger FORScan NA Ranger 6th Gen (2024+) Crowdsourced Spreadsheet Bildschirmfoto 2025-02-12 um 19.55.27

Note: The vehicle returns to normal mode at every startup.
Without any asterisk notes or fine print, no exceptions.

Drive mode is separated from the wheel drive. Any setting on wheel drive remains until you chose differently, irrespective of switching on or off.
Drive mode is the problem and the fact I want to keep slippery for example when I am in my mountain house, and every time I start the truck I need to do it manually..

In Mud/Ruts, my Ranger shifts into 4H; in Rock/Crawl, it goes into 4L. It’s basically impossible—if I stop in 4L, turn the Ranger off, and restart it, for it to quickly switch to 2H or 4A. That’s why it stays in 4L (and probably also in Rock/Crawl mode).

I’ll try to re-explain…

When I switch the truck off in 4H or 4L or 4A or 2H, at start-up the wheel mode is the same I left the car in.
But when I switch off in any driving mode from evo to rock or sand, that goes back to normal at start-up. So for example switching off in rock/crawl with 4L and diff lock, when I start it again it is in 4L with diff lock but normal mode…

Yes, that’s correct. It’s the same for me. But as shown above, according to my documents (German manual, German-spec vehicle with EU code), this behavior is correct—exactly as stated in the manual.
And even after diving deep into Forscan, I can say that there’s no way to code it differently. There are simply many differences—just like how it’s not possible to activate the cameras at speed on EU non-Raptor vehicles.

Well, that seems true for Germany, not true for France or Italy where our manuals tell the same story as the US or AU manual, that pop-up comes and allow you to return in the pre-shutoff mode

As for cameras, I can activate at speed easily..just a trick, but always works

To view the owner’s manual online, you have to enter the VIN. Maybe it really has been changed, and my model is just “too new,” so it’s no longer included in the updated manual?!

What trick? I’ve tested a lot in Forscan. Would you enlighten me?
In the IPMA as-built 706-02-02, I changed the fourth value in D, E, and F and enabled all cameras “at speed” everywhere.

No expert of forscan, but you can activate the camera at speed in rock/crawl mode. Once active you go back in settings and it stays on..at least on my truck

No need to enter VIN for the manual in many ford website around the world

Maybe that’s exactly the problem. Here in Germany, I entered the VIN to get a tailored online owner’s manual for my vehicle. What does the manual say in your Sync 4?

I don’t quite understand. You enabled “camera at speed” in Forscan. I did the same in every setting in APIM & IPMA. So what exactly are you doing now? Are you switching to Rock/Crawl mode and then back?

Never said I enabled in forscan. I do not use it at all.
You said you could not activate camera at speed in forescan, I just said I do not need to do it cause I can activate the camera at speed by simply moving drive mode in rock

Yes, that’s clear. In Rock/Crawl mode, they can be activated. The discussion in this thread was about enabling them while driving in normal drive modes. And that’s what was meant.
