for some unknown reason my ranger does not keep memory of the drive mode when I shut off the engine (the default, as per manual, should be a pop up at re-start asking to confirm the previous drive mode, or resetting to normal). does anyone know if this is a simple parameter setting in forscan?

Same for me, at each start the "normal" mode is set by default. Does anyone know the forscan procedure?

There is no procedure. It is just not possible to code.

What is there to fix if nothing is actually defective but working as intended? There simply is no coding to retain the DriveMode.

not according to the manual. the manual says that when you switch the engine off in any mode different than normal, at re-start there is a pop-up asking to keep the last mode or not.
that pop-up never comes on my ranger, so I always re-start default in normal mode

Can you show that from the manual? I can’t find that point in my manual.

Where is the pop-up supposed to appear? There is already one that asks about the interior monitoring of the alarm system.

This message may not appear on EU versions. I saw it on the US manual but not on mine.

It’s not in your manual, it’s not intended that way, so the dealer can’t repair anything. Everything is working as designed. And there is no coding for it in FORScan.

When I first got my Raptor back in August, I definitely saw that popup every time I started the truck. At some point it no longer appeared on startup. Pure speculation here, but I wonder if that was a feature that Ford killed off in the last OTA software update.

I just looked at my French manual and it clearly says that a message should appear.

and here is the same message in italian...you can use google translate but it says what I wrote above. and it does not say the usual disclaimer of "on certain model/if equipped"
this looks like a standard feature.

if you had and now no longer, it had been definitely removed via OTA update....
