I managed to do this a year or so ago and iI think it happened when I added the tyre temperature. The value below should be "A" not "9" for raptor, 9 seems to work for other variants.

TPMS - Display tire temperature in addition to tire pressureIPC720-11-01xxxx-*xxx-xxxxChange value of * to 9
I followed the instructions in the linked sheet in first post.

The value changed from 0 to 8 on my raptor. Temps work, no issue with gear display.

I should have been a little clearer - there is some Australian spreadsheets getting around that state it should be changed to number “9” and not the +8. The OP may have done that and stopped the gearshift display from working.

If I lost gear display because of tire temps, that would be both wild and ridiculous.

Yeah seems bizarre but when I added tyre temperature incorrectly, I lost the gear display at the same time as gaining the tyre temperature.

Out of curiosity have you added the tyre temperature function via forscan?

There have been several threads about FORScan, but would like to consolidate into one place like was done for the 5G Ranger.

The below document will be updated as people give confirmation as to what works and what does not. I am hoping to find GUI changes as Asbuilt changes together if possible, like you will see on the Confirmed tab for the Chimes and Bambi mode

Web version: FORScan NA Ranger 6G
Actual Gsheet: FORScan NA Ranger 6G - Gsheet

The 3 most useful tabs:
  1. Features Confirmed - these are options that are proven to work on the Ranger
  2. Features TBD - these were collected from F150, Ranger5G, and Bronco and need to be confirmed
  3. FORScan GUI - this is a dump of all the options for all NON-ASBUILT module pages in FORScan while connected to a 6G Ranger

IF YOU CAN CONFIRM a configuration change works, if you could post to this thread with this information:
  • Feature name from the Feature Tab
  • What value you changed from -> to (asbuilt only, or GUI)
  • Ranger trim level tested on
  • Any side effects or gotchas when making the change
  • Any other details of what the feature actually does (in layman terms)

Please PM me if you would like to be an editor for this sheet or request access from within the Gsheet.

** NOTE ** The sheet may take some time for changes to get entered after there are posts with confirmations. So be patient please :)
On the spreadsheet on TPMS - Display tire temperature the code ( 9 ) had an issue with gear paddle shifting on ( D driver mode so I have changed to ( A ) and issue has been solved.

Yup. Busy this weekend otherwise I'd go in and check my settings.

That doesn't look solved. That looks like you are missing the giant D in the center of your tach.

This picture before solving the issue.

if you are driving the car on ( D drive ) D sign is there, and when you shift the paddle it will show the gear number.

So you should change the code on TPMS and it will be solved.

Are you running this version??? I'm picking my 2.7L Lariat in a couple of days and will need to recal for larger tires.

August 10, 2024 - FORScan for Windows version 2.3.62 is released

Main purpose of this release is to fix incorrect work of the automated system that helps to identify and report new models (bug appearted in 2.3.61). Nevertheless, this version contains major developments: improved support for 2023-2025 model years, reworked PID database for new models, other fixes and improvements. For 2020+ model year cars we recommend to create new vehicle profile.

Not sure; I'm running what ever I downloaded last night (at work and don't have that computer). I've been in communication with the dev's and they say another update is on its way in a few days that will take care of this...

I turned on adaptive front lighting system. Not sure if it actually turns on the matrix style lighting ROW has, but it gave me a new setting in the center stack for right or left lane driving, so if you know what it is supposed to do versus what we got in NA, might want to try it out. I don't know enough about the differences to know what to look for.
It should have your brights turned on during night driving and turn off individual dimming zones and lower the brightness on other vehicles. It'd be pretty obvious when it triggers the dimming because everything around the car would be very well lit but the car itself would be lit as if you were using your regular low beams

Could you post a picture of the new menu/settings you have?

There you go.

Edit: looks more like it turns the inside light away from oncoming traffic. What you said sounds like auto highbeam.

Yeah, that's definitely the setup screen for the adaptive headlights. That's for the low beam projectors that are pivoted by actuators to follow the road

Auto high beam and what I described are two different functions. Auto high beam is just a global activation of the high beams without any localized dimming zones. Matrix is individual pixel control of the LED high beams. I had them on my last Audi and matrix was wayyyy better than the auto high beam imo just because I didn't have to worry about blinding oncoming vehicles while also keeping an eye out for Bambi

Yeah, and that's why in my version of the sheet I mention that you "add 8" rather than a specific value, or preferably suggest to not use the asbuilt table and instead use the menu driven "non asbuilt" method which then Forscan does the proper math for you and you don't have to worry about all the math gumbo.

For those more interested in how this all works or are a math nerd, here is some breakdown of the tire temp change: It helps to know a little bit about how hexadecimal converts to binary and vice versa.

There are 4 bits in each character of the asbuilt (also called a "nibble") represented as hexadecimal values ranging from 0 to F, noting that A is 10, B is 11, etc to F is 15. So, quite often there are 3 other bits that will toggle other features if done incorrectly. Also for some cases they use ** which then is a "byte" that has 8 bits rather than 4. In this particular case, it's only one * so it's a nibble with "bit 4" numbered from right to left starting with 1, and is calculated as 2 exp 3 = 8 for the tire temperature display. (the exp 3 is due to it being the 4th bit, as exponentials start from 0, so it is one less of the bit number 4)

If you are further interested in what each bit does, go to the IPC tab in the spreadsheet, and search for 720-11-01, then scroll down to the line that matches, in this case xxxx *xxx xx--. It has a breakdown so you don't have to do the math, just look at the values.

**Caveat** the module tabs in this spreadsheet were copied from "livinitup's F150 sheet", so there may be some new features in our Rangers that are not on these tabs. But I've found it is mostly accurate.

The "nibble" for the tire temperature is below.
Ford Ranger FORScan NA Ranger 6th Gen (2024+) Crowdsourced Spreadsheet 1727100511440-x

The other 3 bits are "transfer case type, minor gauge units, and PRS_cfg". You obviously don't want to mess with "transfer case type", which is bit 3 of the 4 bit value, and minor gauge units is bit 2, and PRS_Cfg is bit 1. A value of 9 indicates that transfer type is "part time drive" and minor gauge units is "Numerical". A value of A changes the minor gauge units to Alphabet.

So after saying all this, just use the "non asbuilt" module in Forscan rather than the "asbuilt" one and just pick what you want in the drop down - less chance to break something else....
