Found a Stock 2024 Ranger Order

So I was doing a bit of research and found a dealership a few states away that has a Lariat with a scheduled build date of Feb 12. The color (Azure) isn’t what I want (Iconic Silver) but everything else is identical. They are checking to see if they can get the color changed. If so…then I may finally be able to at least approximate a delivery date!

I really don’t understand how stock orders are taking priority over retail, but I think just knowing I have a confirmed vehicle is worth the travel to go get it! Hopefully they can get the color changed and it’ll be a done deal.

Stock orders are being filled because Ford has a dumb way of using allocations. They don't care that dealer A has a sold order if they don't have an allocation. But a larger volume dealer B sells many but doesn't currently have an order will be able to get stock because they have more allocations. I myself don't get it and would think Ford would pump out all retail orders fast before people are forced to find something else depending on their circumstances or just bail like some on here because they just changed their minds. ?‍

A local dealer has two stock orders (one is spoken for) to be built mid-February (they were ordered in June), plus the one I ordered but as mine was ordered just a couple weeks ago who knows when that is going to get scheduled. The stock orders seem to be scheduled before some of the retail orders so who knows what Ford's formula is.

A local dealer has two stock orders (one is spoken for) to be built mid-February (they were ordered in June), plus the one I ordered but as mine was ordered just a couple weeks ago who knows when that is going to get scheduled. I ordered my Ranger Lariat in Dec. 2022. There is no build date and barely any communication. Absurd

I would guess you have already resolved your search for a Iconic Silver Lariat, if not check this out. Greco Ford in Delray Beach florida has a Iconic Silver Lariat in stock. I ordered it and another at another dealer, other came in first and I did not take the one that Greco has when it came in. it does have the Chrome Package, nice change from all the black out trim
