Front seat non-adjustable headrest alternative option?

i had them backwards too but i didn't like that because i like to lean my head back while waiting for the wife to finish in the store. that doesn't work at all with the headrests backwards

I wish they were the style of the F150 XLs where they are a plain jane design and are flat and vertical and don't have any angle to them. To me, that makes perfect sense and is best for ergonomics.

Thanks everyone for the tips and feedback. I came up with a "jig" to use on both headrests to straighten them up. It was a redneck build, but worked perfectly and no damage (or scratches). Pictures below.

Can I ask what pipes you used? Trying to find something to buy I can grab quick!

And for anyone else reading, what if I use my bench vise?

I'm thinking to clamp this section of the headrest bar, right where it meets the cushioned headrest, bars facing upward, and then prying on both bars at once in the direction I want to bend them. Think that would work?

I used vice to great results for both headrests, used long wood blocks to do both "legs" at once and great force, I did small adjustments and kept test fitting to get it right, drive one time, passenger 3 times. Body force was enough using leverage for me

I used the trailer hitch to do my father in laws headrests but your way will be fine too

Sweet! Can I ask how you set it up? Wood on bench vise jaws, and you clamped the two posts? Did you push on the headrest cushion itself to bend the posts?

Yes I certainly did, no I hugged the cushion and braced my foot and leg against the table the vice is mounted on for leverage, then I pushed with foot and leg while pulling with arms/upper body. It took good force but it was controlled and could feel the action on the headrest legs. The 2 wood scraps acted as wider soft jaws to grip the headrest legs evenly and secure

I have no idea if this would work, but it is safer, pun intended, than bending your OEM rests. Plus you can retain it for another vehicle, assuming the colors matched.
