Garmin Power Switch Aux

Hello Rangers!

I’ve been eyeballing the Garmin PowerSwitch for a bit: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/718849/

I want to use it to power grille LEDs now and potentially other auxiliary lights down the road. What I like most is that it’s wireless, allowing me to trigger switches directly from my phone or through Android Auto app.

I got me one of these way cheaper than the Garmin. I don't think they make them anymore as I can find them on the website.

I have a powerswitch.
The mounting options are limited in the US the last time I looked.
It works great, but I'm not sure it would be the right thing for grill lights.
You would have to turn them on manualy everytime you started the truck I think. I am not sure if there is a way to program it to start with the ignition.
The powerswitch is hooked directly into the battery. So it is always "on".
For example I can turn on my ditch lights without the truck on (or accidentally leave the lights on).

Also, you have to make sure your phone does not remove permissions from the garmin app when not in use. If it does, it won't show up in android auto when you want to use it.
Easy fix, but can be annoying.

I use one. It will do exactly what you want it to do. I have my grill lights tied into my DRL because I didn't want to switch them, but I have various other lights running through the powerswitch. I can control them through my phone or through my touchscreen in the vehicle. The ability to "link" the switches into sequences is also pretty nice (one touch to turn on all lights for example).

I dont currently have it set up with an ignition switch, but thats worth doing. Sometimes I turn my truck off and leave the lights on and I THINK you can prevent this with an ignition power trigger.

I used the Powerswitch bracket and mounted it on top of my fusebox lid.

for the cleanest install you should also add a blue sea fuse block and a blue sea ground block onto the bracket. The powerswitch is fused, but you should have fuses sized to the individual lights after the Powerswitch.

Its super easy to set up and avoids having to run wires through the firewall.

That is where I also got the idea.

The shipping to the US for the pirate mount was to much for me.
I went with this mount because it was cheap, but now it is in the way of adding struts to the hood : (. and I had to drill my own holes for the bus bar.

Did you add struts to hood? Or do you think the fuse box mount and switch would be in the way?

I am thinking about using this to mount my Auxbeam. I noticed there is a limited clearance space under the fuse box. Did it interfere with the fuses?
