I’m looking for a good quality and easily-deployed windshield sun shade for our trucks. I bought the Husky Liners Custom Fit Sunshade and the fit is awful - it’s impossible to push it to the edges of the windshield. I’m thinking of buying an Intro-Tech shade because I have one of theirs for another car and it’s quite good.

But perhaps it’s simply the tapered shape of the greenhouse on our trucks that will make it difficult for any shade to fully cover the windshield. Because the base seems wider than the top, it is hard to get the corners covered without forcibly bending the shade during deployment.

One of my first purchases as a new owner in Texas was the Ranger sunshade. It does not fit as well as I think it should considering it’s a ford product for a ford vehicle. So perhaps the shape of the windshield is too curved for a rigid folding shade. Maybe those ones that seem to open up like an umbrella would solve the issue? Just my $0.02

I have the non-Ford branded Covercraft. While it works well, it takes up a lot of room and is a bit of a PITA to install/fold up.

This is what I ended up with too. It's alright. I had an Intro-Tech shade in my previous car that I got from AutoAnything (back in the day when they existed) that I think was made a little better if I'm being honest. If I could go back, I'd spend the extra bucks and get one again, but for now the Pigenius one is fine.

I'm going to highly suggest having a clear (70-80%), ceramic tint installed on the windshield. My Focus has a sun shade and ceramic tint on everything but the windshield, and it's easily 20F hotter inside than the Raptor without a shade but full ceramic tint. Shades work, but ceramic tint is on another level. Truly a game changer for summer comfort.

I bought that one too and in a year the California sunshine has charbroiled it.

Good to know about how long it lasts, I did do a ceramic tint on my windshield also, might last a bit longer than a year hopefully.

I am doing the ceramic coating, about $180 last I checked. This temp was 6 days before the official start of the Florida summer
