Last night, for the second time in two weeks, after I started the truck, the headlights never positioned themselves correctly. They did the dip motion, but never fully leveled to the height. I didnt notice until I was already on the road driving and realized I couldnt see 20 feet in front of me.

I pulled over, turned the truck off, and restarted it. The lights then went to normal height and I went on my way.

This happned last month before I coded the "adaptive lights", so it isnt because of that.

Has anyone else experienced this?

It happened to me too, I noticed it because the cars in front were flashing their lights.
When I turned off the ignition everything went back to normal.
But it's annoying when it happens.

OK, if Im not the only one, this seems to be a safety issue, and not just relegated to the US cars.

It happend to me also very often.
it’s a European wildtrak x with matrix Led.

Ford workshop try’s two times to find a reason but without success.

I connect already during wrong hight with forscan to check if any values change when restarting.
I expected maybe some different values at hight sensor rear axel or different values at target hight for self leveling. But
nothing change.
it seems to me that it only happens when car wakes up from deep sleep.
It happen on normal start and on remote start.
It is really annoying.

Mine has done that about a dozen times since I owned it. When it does it the high beams won't activate. Says they are on but they aren't. Most times I catch it and just restart the vehicle.
