Had Llumar Valor PPF put on the headlights on my Ranger and wife's Forester about a year ago, so far, so good. We've noticed a small mark on the Forester from a rock being thrown up but thankfully it didn't chip, crack or damage the lens, these new LED headlights are $$$$
I have same year/model Ranger as yourself with same headlights…do you notice the ppf affecting the functionality of the projector beam headlights? Thanks.

Do you peel off the Lamin-X periodically and replace? How long does the protection last?
I had Lamin-x on my last vehicle, a Ridgeline. At 8 years it was cloudy on the more horizontal surfaces so I replaced it, but if I was really picky about it being clear 5 years would have been a good interval. And as rough as it looked when it came off the headlight was still crystal clear underneath.
That was with near zero maintenance for what it's worth. If you wash your truck regularly and put any sort of protection on the film itself it'll probably last a lot longer.

No, haven't noticed any issues with the headlights with PPF applied.

The Ranger and most new vehicles should be fine stock as they are made of glass. The older plastic ones did that.

Are you sure about that? Pretty sure that front cover is plastic

Top tip: Plain old Windex seems to take bugs off way easier than "bug and tar remover".

i did not know that. i was just using water and a soft rag. i never thought those buy and tar cleaners worked that well from the once or twice i had tried them when younger

Newspaper is for glass... it is not touching my paint. Windex and microfiber towels to get those bugs off. Then a wash and ceramic spray if needed.

Also, just to make sure I wasn't making anything up... I went outside to double check. The headlight covers are indeed very plastic. There is no glass anywhere except those projector lenses inside.
